Oh no! That sucks! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys. I'm just an old Mesa guy who lives in ATL, but I see so many of you guys at the airport. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

About this "No Furlough Clause...." is there any way the company can get around it. I've never heard of a contract having that before.

No furlough clause specifically mentions price of fuel and state of the company as reasons not to furlough. So who knows how that would actually hold up.

the no furlough clause is supposed to protect the pilots who were at the company when the new contract was signed (nov 07) to prevent being furloughed because of staffing issues, fuel prices, etc. But for people like me and about 119 other people, this does us no good.

How deep are the continuing DL cuts?? I know at OO we've been hammered in SLC even into January, with more to come.

P.S. for "Maverick," OO is SkyWest

im not saying that we are worse off than anybody else. Its more of a surprising fall from where things seemed to be months ago. But as you said, thats happened to everybody

Not confirming or denying, but this one has had several 'dates' so far. First for Dec 1st, next for the 15th. ASA would have benefited from furlough in September but they didn't. I'm surprised they haven't and won't be surprised if they do but until the letter comes, it's pure speculation.

Besides, week of Christmas? Mgt would lose a lot of credibility from a mostly content workforce by doing that.

It's funny how people take a rumor an run with it. I know we are all dying for some dirt here with all this tension and no sign of relief. I think that if ASA were to furlough any of the unprotected pilots it WOULD come as a surprise. Seems as though every message we get from the MEC and the company they stress how they do not intend on let any guys go and that they are all about a positive pro employee company to the grave. So I don't think it would come out as a rumor because whom ever makes those kinds of furlough decsions probably wouldn't talk about it and "let the cat out of the bag" to someone that would go out and tell guys on APC.

FWIW if they were to furlough all the guys they could legally let go assuming they are all 2 year FO's or less they would save $4,102,920 annually based on worse case scenario - CR7 2nd year F.O. $37.99 X 75hr = 2849.25 X 12mon = $34,191 X 120 pilots (no benifits or per diem). Wow, when I look at that it does seem like a pretty mean number. I never really knew they could save that much. I'm not really sure where that # stands opposed to retraining when/if they ever have to recall. Kind of put's it in perspective on how much those guys on the chopping block should appreciate their jobs. Even more so than the rest of us.

Agreed with the first line!

Your numbers don't look at the big picture though - I am assuming that the company is saving a crap load of money by keeping all of the lines at guarantee. Most of our captains are 5 yr++ - it would only take 130 captains being reduced from the 90 hr summer averages to the current 75 hr lines to make up for 100 2yr fos. I know there's other expenses I'm missing, but it won't be a huge savings to furlough unless there's a further reduction in our block hours from Delta.

Just my 2 cents.
