BringDaFunk,

It was refreshing to read your post and realize that some people know when its time to bury the hatchet. Too many people take this job way too personal. Its just that, a JOB. We are all out for ourselves and our families. Be glad you have your family, your health, and a job that provides for you and said family. People who do things like deny jumpseats to GJers or Mesa guys are nothing more than former playground bullies that never grew up. Anyone who denies someone a jumpseat this time of year based on what company they work for should be fired from a canon into the sun.

BDF, I am also sorry to hear about your father and I hope your family stays strong. Your dad's quote will stay with me for a long time....

To answer your question you'd have to understand the circumstances, you don't...you're trying to compare Midwest outsourcing their flying to republic (also wrong) with an alter-ego, not the same. If you're really a Midwest furlougee, you'd know the difference between the two. While we're at it I was at the last union event in MKE, who were the speakers?

I think you're just another gojetter just trying to justify your existence.

@ Bond
I'm not sure who the speakers were, and frankly I don't care.ALPA has never done anything for me personally, and looking back I could say with a small margin of doubt, that I never really needed them. As for me being a "go-jetter" believe what you want.I dont think we have any GJ pilots at compass, and if we did im pretty sure most of them on here would be able to spot me out.I think pilots are pilotsno matter who they work for, just like people are people no matter what race.

We're/ are you an ex/active TSA pilot? Where you affected by gojets being formed personally? Or did the oh so significant drop in pay, send a ripple through the industry and into your company, just in time for you have to push back digging out that bean shaped pool in your backyard? The before GJ sucked, and sucks after it.

Don't taze me bro.

I'll answer the question with a very simple explanation:

Compass captain scale on the 175

1 year $61
2 year $64
3 year $66

ExpressJet Captain scale on the 145

1 year $62
2 year $64
3 year $65

If you don't see the bigger picture, you might as well call it a day....and yes, gojets directly affected my family.

Compass:

Flowthrough to mainline:Yes
Upgrade time:1 year
Furloughees:0

XJT:

Flowthrough to mainline:No
Upgrade time:4+ years(After waiting that long $61 is about right)
Furloughees:300+

As for the payscale...you can talk to ALPA about that.We get 'draft' pay (1.5) very often as well due to all the open time and lack of qualified plane movers.

Cool

If you really think the "alter-ego" that only owns 16 planes is bringing down the industry you need to get some common sense... Sure I get why you may have been upset by them in the past, but it does not affect your life currently does it? If you say yes you are lying through your teeth. Get over your grudge. Sure it may have been a bad way to start a new company but they have made some good progress in the last few years. they have less than 200 pilots, they are union, and their pay scales arent too far off of other companies flying the same equipment.

GJ Capt.

1 - 60
2 - 61
3 - 63

Comair Capt. (crj700)

1 - 59
2 - 60
3 - 62

ASA Capt (700)

1 - 61
2 - 63
3 - 65

Skywest Capt (700/900)

1 - 60
2 - 62
3 - 65

No I dont work for GoJet, never applied there, nor ever will but you need to grow up and realize that its just another company. Skywest alone has 4 times the number of 700s GJ has. So how is one SMALL company going to bring down the industry? Get over your grudge or all that stress is going to give you a stroke/heart attack in the near future....

Pay is only one part of the equation. However it's awfully hard for any pilot group to get more when there are those willing to work for less. Skywest used to pay $19 an hour first year but because of their "soft pay" (duty/trip rigs) they paid better than just about everybody.

Funk, show me one flow through agreement that's worked for a regional group. How many have gone from Compass to Northwest or Delta? What happens when mainline furloughs and those mainline guys take your seat?

Only a few of the 150 furloughed from TSA have taken advantage of that preferential hiring. Most waterskiers are smart enough to see that working for Hulas, regardless of company is a good idea let alone working for the operation which is the reason they're on the street in the first place.
