If line credit vaules go below 80 hours a month then they need to furlough.

I disagree. I'd rather take a little hit and have the option of finding additional flying in open time rather than have our fellow employees on the street making nothing.

Glad to see you'll help your fellow pilots out.

I COMPLETELY disagree and just to add I've never agreed with anything you've ever posted. You are the furthest thing from a true SKWer. We take care of our own right down to the last pilot (hmmmm, maybe not you). I’ll gladly fly a line credited at 75 with block values much lower to save every pilot, FA, dispatch, other agents, etc.

Not sure I agree with your statement either. Certainly, SkW takes care of the drunks. If you were a drunk flying around folks, you can get fired and go into a "rehabilitation program", and then get rehired to be a pilot again for SkW in SIX MONTHS.

SkW takes care of training failures, too. Fail a transistion, no problemo... just go back to your previous seat. Captain or FO.

But, fail an upgrade, and you're not eligible to fly or even throw bags for SkW... ever. Even if it put your family out on the street. Just making sure that I understand what taking care of folks means... every single one.

Whether SkyWest furloughs or not will be business decision. It costs money to put people on the street, and then bring them back and train them. Having folks on the street when at least there is a distant possibility that SkW may be able to pick up flying that Mesa may not be able to provide, and that UAL has asked SkW to be ready for that possibility.

Thought you were taking ALL the United flying and buying United!....guess not.

That goes without saying; I'm talking about the fact that the majority of our pilots (pilot to pilot) will happily fly reduced lines in order to keep the JR guys on property. I also understand that every company has their fair share of Slaphappy's………………………………..everyone’s got them and nobody wants them (except Mgmnt).

I shouldn't be expected to subsidize other peoples paychecks, this isn't the soviet union. Its sucks some people might lose their jobs in this economy but thats the way life works. I have bills to pay too and the policy manual says that lineholders can expect 87 hours per month.

Expect does not mean entitled to.

Wait till the shoes on the other foot.

Also, screw the policy manual............what's min guarantee? That’s all you should expect so live accordingly, if you live with higher expectations then don’t be surprised with the economy goes to crap and you find yourself upside down and inside out. Our JR pilots shouldn’t have to pay for your life’s pitfalls, they've got problems of their own and they make A LOT less money than you do.
