that is all, and did you put the darn gear down?
There should not be any 121 carrier aircraft operating in this country with boots. The FAA and the manufactures both know there are problems with these systems, yet they want to continue to blame the pilots. That's the goverement for you.

I agree, but my point is we dont really know everything yet, that may not be the cause. I have an opinion of what happened too, (one that hasnt been touched) but i wont speculate till I know more...periodOriginally Posted by River6

Originally referring to the lead soprano (no relation to Tony)
"Pre-Madonna" really gave my classical Italian literature group a good laugh
You are either exceedingly clever, or....

I'm surprised that you cannot override it. Many years ago all warning/protection systems had been readjusted or redesigned (for new airplanes) to use much lesser forces to allow 'smaller-stature' pilots (and women) to fly large airplanes.
I remember this from an aviation class I took way back when where an instructor was bringing this up as one of the “achievements” of the new generation. I think there's a limit of max 80 lbs or so on a stick pusher mandated by the FAA? I don't know this as a fact; just vaguely remember this issue being talked about in my aero class...
Frankly, if you cannot override your stick pusher, you need to start working out or change airplanes. That feature is there for a reason – systems fail you know….

I don't want to sound insensitive, but I think something needs to be mentioned here and its going to be a tough pill to swallow.
Some of us on here are getting way to upset at what is being leaked and reported during the investigation. That is very much understandable.
However, we must realize, it is a possibility that the aircrew was negligent. I know that sucks because nobody wants to see a family member, friend, or co-worker be singled out as the cause of an accident.
The news media is going to speculate on the cause as information is leaked; just as many here have on this website. That's what the news media does. Like it or hate it. That is what we do as humans. We all want to try and make sense of what happend and why. Fortunately, the experts are going to look at everything so we truly know what happened and why.
May I suggest that those that are getting upset and angry try to relax and not get so emotional over the media and others who seem to be jumping to conclusions. Don't get upset over soemthing you can't control.

How is it that the NTSB knows that flight control position is a result of pilot control input and not from air loads?

I dont think "air loads" can move hydraulically actuated control to their stops??????Originally Posted by Jetstream 823JS
