None of the demographics you mention have been historically oppressed. Blacks have. Women have.

 

Historically oppressed? We are talking about opportunities today. Explain to me how today, 2009, a minority is under the burden of oppression in relation to flying an airplane?

There are many scholarships now available to women and minorities through Women in Aviation, 99's, Girls with Wings, Pioneer of Flight Scholarships, etc....because aviation used to be something of an all male and white profession.

I recently flew with an all Canadian flight crew. Nobody took our photos though. Imagine, an aircraft piloted completely by foriegners and nobody took notice.

 

How is it racist? Because the PC community says it to be? Do a search for scholarships available to women and minorities in aviation and you may be surprised of the opportunities available.

And if you think a major coropration, such as an airline, does not want diversity in their pilot ranks? They seek and desire it and will hire for it.

 

Maybe I am missing it but that's his point! Because they are black or women or both they go to the front of the line at the recruiting desk, how is that not reverse racism? It's not a matter of wanting to diversify, these companies are FORCED to diversify. I'd say most companies want to hire what they want to hire not what Rev. Jackson wants you to hire, not to be told who to hire because of skin tone or body parts. Mr Obama proved you can be the big dog its time do away with these quotas!

Here is a great example.
A friend of mine owns an engineering firm with 143 employees. The civil liberties people came in and accused him of not hiring Asians. He produced the last 350 applications and they could not find one Asian application, they then accused him of not recruiting Asians. He told them he doesn't recruit anybody. Some how or other they forced his hand to go 80 miles away to Baltimore to an Asian job fair on his dime and what happened, NO ONE applied. But they told him to do it or face some sort of penalty. That's crap period.
