Thanks.

I'm certainly no investagatory journalist, but I would imagine if you'd like real info about them, you could maybe call them?

And really, what would be the fun in sensationalizing already sensationalized opinion? Would it really be that sensational?

At least he was honest and said he is a reporter unlike some other reporters who tried and failed to hide it.

I also think its pretty funny that he's asking for information from a group of people CNN has basically portrayed as student drivers.

This is such a stupid thread.

This guy is one of CNN's heavy hitter reporters not some noname who's going to create his own set of "facts" to further his career. Just google his name or watch CNN. Here is your chance to show the rest of the world the racket places like Gulfstream, Mesa and other buy a job pilot mills are. Grab your nuts and tell him the facts.

Mesa is not a pilot puppy mill. The ab-initio Mesa-San Juan College Associate Degree Program does not guarantee employment with mesa airlines. If you are a dipstick, you can't even interview...

That is BS. If you complete their pay for a job program it's a guaranteed interview and about a 99% acceptance. It's a fact. You can't do much with the training you get there other than to fly a mesa airplane therefore it's kind of counter productive for the mesa team to turn away graduates. After all those are the types of pilots they need for the future profits of mesa right?

I'm not aware of their pay for a job program.

The graduates you speak of would show with 290 hours (from zero) of beech time (bonanza, baron and then b1900), what they lacked in radio skills, they more than made up in stick and rudder skills.

Of course, my recollections are from the mid 90's when the san-juan-ers would show up for IOE, I might be remembering things not as clearly as you do...

What do a Bonanza, Baron, and B1900 have to do with stick and rudder skills? Serious question...

Not much, but they may distort the opinion of whoever responds to the reporter's request. I've seen first hand what these types do when it comes to aviation, it's just not worth it, even to trash GIA.
