And for those of you who really want to see how low our pay has sunk, the following were what they would have been on the BAe-146 in 2005 at ZW, had we not had a certain other carrier's contract held over us by UAL and Mgt in 2003.

Flight attendants too are on the street thanks to the Republic shenanigans.
Don't worry about my career though, I can take care of myself. You should worry about the beatdown Bedford will bring you on these rates you claim will need to be negotiated.

So for those of us non-dorks, who is/was ZW? Really, is it that difficult to write out the airline name?
#256
ZW is Air Wisconsin. Plus the thing that Kenny forgot to add is simple thing like our work rules are far and I mean FAR superior to RAH's. Things like, leg by leg cancelation pay, regardless of MX or WX reasons, min day, 401k match, trip and duty rigs, trip touching, and others. This sucks.

No wonder we keep screwing ourselves when there are regional pilots who don't even know what was happening in the industry 3-4 years ago.

Last summer we had an AE JS'er on our airplane, the standard conversation of "how's things going at...." ensued. He mentioned that Bain Consulting Group had just been hired to take a look at AE. Shudders went down my spine we I heard that name again.

DoJet,
I was one of the first out the door when ACA started Baining it's pilot group, so I know how screwed up it all was.
Ladies and Gents, we are now watching the final nails being firmly hammered into the coffin of this profession. The fact that we have 100 seat E-Jets being flown at the regional isn't what'll kill it off. Nope, it's the fact that we'll have guys flying them for what is simply laughable pay and work rules.
Management must be laughing themselves to sleep at night knowing that we now think all we have to ask for is "Industry Average" contracts. Do you not understand that there is power in numbers? Skywest and Shutubqua have how many aircraft and pilots now??
Or that the real reason pilot groups that had good/great contracts have been screwed over isn't because they were too expensive. It's because others were too eager to fly a jet, get an upgrade after 18 months or too bloody stupid, to understand that doing the same job for less pay would affect us all in the future and lower the yard stick with which we could ALL negotiate future contracts.
Air Wisconsin or ZW to those of you who are smart enough to work it out, are still making money and yet we're supposed to feel guilty for that fact that we actually get paid for being at work?

That will never, ever happen. RAH will never have more than one seniority list as long as the pilot group has a say...period. As BoilerUP said, I can't think of a single pilot group that would open itself up to the kind of Alter-ego plans a separate seniority list would create. That wouldn't be a "selfless action" by the RAH pilot group...it would be friggin' suicide.
BoilerUP... you are correct in what you're saying. It just reinforces my belief that the seniority system in the US airlines is arguably THE BIGGEST obstacle for airline pilots becoming true professionals. In other words, a Midwest B-717 captain making $150/hour now gets replaced by some Republic kid half his age, making less than half of what he was making. If this Midwest captain wants to fly the same passengers under the same brand, he has to take $125/hour paycut and sit as a copilot to that Republic kid captain. What's wrong with this picture?!
But I digress...
