In some small way, I am almost glad to be furloughed right now for the single reason that happenings like these just make it harder to think about my furture as an airline pilot. And a lot of people get on here and talk a really big game, I am sure that I may even be guilty of that. But when all is said and done, I don't ever really see any action. RAH guys are flying Midwest routes in the 170's and soon to be 190's. Furloughed Midwest guys call RAH a crappy operation guilty of putting them out of work, and then they start ground school at GoJet the very next day. Same thing with mainline United guys. "It was our flying anyway." The arguments in defense of these actions are as strong as the arguments used to slam the other guy.
A regional carrier flying a mainline size aircraft is a bad thing. Period. Do I blame all the guys at RAH? No, they didn't chose it. Will they fly it? Yes, they would not give up their job in this economy any more so than anybody else would at this point. In order to stop this madness, the effort needs to be directed to the source. Those guys that sit in a nice big comfy office for a living are the ones that are helping this industry sink further into the hole that it has fallen into, not the guys that show up to work everyday. Principles are a great thing to have and I admire them in anybody. I do not think RAH guys should quit anymore than I would have quit TSA on my principles. However, my principles kept me from running across the hall looking for a job. Those are the principles I admire.
Folks, it is time to send a message to the powers that be that the time for change is now. And to you RAH guys, negotiate well, because this CBA will set the tone for the rest of the industry when it comes to negotiations for the rest of us out there. Best of luck to everyone and all of us.

So you are saying those guys at RAH were forced at gunpoint to apply, interview and go through indoc? Hmm ok. I guess they DIDN'T have a choice. :/ righhhttt...
From my experience with some RAH guys jumpseating is many of them were arrogant, cocky and excited about getting 190's back when they were just rumored. Even had a captain or 2 set them straight so they wouldn't even say a word for the rest of the flight. Hopefully that was just an unlucky bunch that we had and not most of the company...hmmm. Either way, making your company look alot worse.

Like 75% of the Midwest pilots you "enabled" to be put out of work.

You know as well as I do that I or any other RAH pilot didn't enable anyone out of work. Our management did. Your mangement did. I'm not saying that you didn't stand up for your job, but do you really expect RAH pilots to not come to work? By your pilot group not striking, we have to fly this or be on the street as well.

Honest question, if republic provides equal or better payrates to Jetblue or around what midwest would have had, would it be ok with you guys? After all, if it is just the payrates that matter, who cares what company is flying the planes?

Look up the definition of the word enabler, you'll see it applies.

Sidestep the question if you want, but I would appreciate an answer. I understand that you are personally frustrated with this, but holding a personal vendetta against all republic pilots will definitely not help anything.

Majors including Airways and Jetblue both fly the E-190. Now a regional flies the E-190. wow. that is all I have to say. 100 seats at a 'regional' airline? I think with the advent of the 170/190, the crj700/900/1000, and Q400, the term regional airline should be completely phased out, and we should revert back to commuter airlines. Does that even make sense, I dunno?
Maybe we should just call them low paying airlines, and high paying airlines. 'commuters' are now flying the same capacity as major airlines. I think Danny Tanner and Uncle Jesse would be very dissapointed. sweet mercy

Dude that's the point! The high paying airlines will be driven out of business and airline pilots will become glorified bus driver.
