On another note, yeah it's crappy what is happening with RAH and Midwest. A lot of people have taken the shaft but we all know how it started and how it can be fixed. SCOPE. We're all being threatened in this industry from both sides now. Bigger planes at the regional airlines and Open Skies agreements. Management is trying to burn the candle at both ends to make as much $ as possible.

Coldpilot. I'm upset because I'm being bashed for being an RAH pilot. Being called a SCAB. I'm not a SCAB. I don't know who you work for and I don't care.

Purpleanga. If your company made the same decisions as ours. What would you do? What would you do if you were in my position? Lets get constructive and stop pointing fingers and calling people names.

I don't understand how anyone can say "Blame Management." They are simply doing their job by serving the stockholder, making use of cheap labor, and finding growth during a tough time. I'm sure other regional managers are saying "Wow, he's the man! He brought 100 seats to the regionals! Hopefully we can get our fingers in that cookie jar eventually!" Management's job isn't to bring fair compensation to the regionals, it's to make money. It all depends on which side of the fence you are on. It's the pilots and the union that are responsible for compensation. Management wants to take from labor and give to stockholders, Union wants to take from stockholders and give to labor, simple as that. It's just too bad management is currently winning. Strength from pilots and their respective union is the only thing to rectify this.

What's done is done. The only thing we can do now is 1) Learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others, and not make the same mistakes twice, and 2) SUPPORT RAH pilots and unions (think unity) in at least getting fair compensation, or better yet not flying the 190 at all.

Good luck RAH pilots, please fight to the best of your abilities on behalf of the entire industry.

I'll leave you with a few quotes from a man who, while fighting for something much more important, nonetheless was fighting for what he believed in, just as we are...

"Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent."

"He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

"Progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals."

"An individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for the law." (Think RLA)

I can understand the frustration. I'm sure there are some American guys that think I am a scab. Unfortunately there are a lot of people new to the industry that don't know the meaning of the word and will call you a scab if you say "hey my crappy regional is better than your crappy regional."

ok, honest question for all of you that are mad....if we get an industry AVERAGE contract would you be mad? we all know that if you have an industry leading contract you're gonna be in trouble...express jet and comair proved that so all we want in average so is that ok? 5 year 190 at jet blue is 96 and 86 at usair, is 91 ok?

Since you're replacing Midwest pilots with equal seats, you deserve Midwest rates. 153 captain 99 FO. If you sell yourself short, the whole industry will pay for it.
