Anyone else out there expecting to see the words Trans States in the next company letter regarding staffing shortfalls? This is like deja vu

You guys will enjoy working at Eagle. It's far from perfect but I think we have the best schedules and work rules of any regional. I've been here seven years and recently upgraded to EMB Captain in Dallas. I'm sure I'll be flying with lots of you.

Ummm, this is highly subjective and highly base dependent. There are more than a few 4-days out there worth only 13 hours or so....

One of our VPs put out a letter today saying they were tryng to work it out . . . . . .
ALPA said they are putting up an LOA . . . . I think any line over 85 hrs of flying should be paid at 300% until things improve since this is the same scenario we had back in 2001 when the flow through guys started going the last time. The company's response to that quagmire was to choke the flow through and delayed their progression to AA . . . That would not be smart this time around. Our union reps have been telling them to hire/upgrade for over a year . . at this point, lack of planning on their part does not constitute and emergency on mine. I come to work, I do my stuff (91 hrs worth for March) - and go home. I dont answer my phone unless it benefits me and I know they are offering 150% and there must be nothing but fat trips to pick up... It is really time for some leadership and unity. |
Question for those of you who have gone through training at Eagle:
I am in the 3/14 class and live here in Dallas. I plan on staying at home rather than at the hotel. I have a buddy who lives here who did that but I was wondering if there is some unwritten/unspoken rule on staying at the hotel vs home. Does anybody care one way or the other? Also, what would you guys recommend I study up on to prepare for training? Is there anything I can do to go in the first day better prepared? The training information sheet I received yesterday said to arrive at 7am and somebody will meet me in the lobby of the training center. How long are the days typically? Thanks for all the help! |
I stayed in the hotel just the first night. No big deal f you don't stay, your roommate gets a single. Days were 7 to 4ish I think. Don't study now, relax...the system works.

I think they just switched the EMB training to CBT (Computer Based Training) so expect to do Indoc the first week, then go home for a week to do the CBT. come back and do some more CBT at the training facility. After that its 2 weeks of reviewing and preparing for oral and written. CRJ does the same. ATR, I have no idea. Don't study now because first week it's company policies so you can't really prep for that. And they should tell you what to study during that week (usually memory items, flows, profiles, etc.). I believe my class was the last one on the EMB to do Indoc and then 3 weeks of classroom systems (no CBT). Days were 7am-4pm with 1 hr lunch and like a 10 min break every hour so the days actually go by quick.
I hope this helps. |
