Most notably Flyby1206 Yea, I was surprised that there werent any openings for MIA ATR in the Feb 14 class(they did have 4 SJU and 4 DFW ATR slots), but we have a class starting on Feb 28 and I bet there will be a few slots in that one. So far the projected slots for Feb 28 are: 5 DFA (Dallas FO ATR) 2 NFE (NYC-LGA FO EMJ) 8 OFC (Chicago FO CRJ) 8 OFE (Chicago FO EMJ) Typically the class sizes have been in the 30-40 range, but this one looks like it might be a bit smaller. I think they are getting into some logistics issues with stuff like running out of hotel rooms for everyone, not enough sim/ground instructors, not enough simulators (especially CRJ). Also there will be a fairly big bunch of CRJ CA and EMJ CA upgrades starting on the 28th as well (less room for newhires). The vacancy bid that you quoted above will close on the 27th, so there might be some last minute changes to the Feb 28th newhire openings depending on who bids what. I'm thinking there will be a few more MIA ATR slots and less DFW ATR. As for MIA EMJ FOs I am betting they will wait another month or so until they start offering that to newhires since they have just begun building up the base. The initial MIA EMJ base opening was Feb 1 with 50 crews, in June there will be another ~20-30 crews transferring in, and they will need to have some newhire EMJ FOs starting online at that same timeframe. I know they send out an email about 2 weeks prior to class with the projected available slots. Usually it is pretty accurate, with a few small changes on the morning of class. They dont have a system set up where you can defer a class until you get what base/equip you prefer, but there is so much movement that you will be able to put in a request for base transfer to MIA and you have a good chance of being in MIA within 1-3 months after you finish training. The newhire seniority is done by DOB, so you will have that working to your advantage! As long as you chose EMJ or ATR you will have no problem transferring to MIA. We have a fairly experienced pilot group (relative to other regionals) and are always looking to add to that. I hope things work out and you can get online in MIA asap. Good luck! |

does anyone know on the sim ride are you allowed to use the Nav function on the FD or can you only use heading mode? Also what happens if one of your former employers dont have a fax number?

You need to have as much verifiable proof that you worked for them as possible. Pay stubs, W2's, everything. If you have a contact number still, call them and find out if they can give you a new fax number so that they can comply with PRIA requirements. |

No one can say why there are no newhire slots for MIA EMJ. This is the second vacancy bid and there have been few takers. Best guess is that if again only a few bid to MIA then there will have to be assignments to newhires. Your best bet now for MIA is to bid either ATR or EMJ (whichever you would rather fly) for any domicile and then bid MIA when the next vacancy bid runs. Bids will probably continue on a monthly basis form now until the end of the year so there is plenty of opportunity to bid Miami even if initially you are elsewhere. Good luck.

That means they're going to look at your application. Double check, TRIPLE CHECK, QUADRUPLE CHECK that EVERYTHING IS 100% CORRECT on airlineapps.com. Once they look at it, you CAN NOT change anything without informing them 2 weeks prior to the interveiw (if you get one)! IF they like what they see, you'll get an email to call them and schedule an interview. |
Got the call today and passed the review board!! Happiest day of my life! :)
Looks like I will be going in for the medical sometime next week and will find out my class date then. Hoping for March 14th...but at this point I'm just happy to be in!! |
