BusJock, assuming you are with ALPA? Run for president, reinvent the entire industry to your likes, scope anything less than 300 seats, destroy all regional jets, have Boeing/Airbus up their production 5000% and hire all of us at your airline within the next year (Right after we become Blue Angel pilots). Can you also pay all our bills, loans, etc? That is, right after you find the cure for cancer...

Thanks.

Funny thing is children, you all would sell your souls to be where I am now but some of us truly do earn it and others just wear costumes and pretend they have. Let the envy tirade continue ad nausea. If I even suspected my wife would run off with an rj puke, I am supremely confident she would be back once she saw your paychecks :-) "that's for the day right, not the month?" So you attempt to spit on my words of truth BUT when you ever get a chance to get that plum Majors job, your paint my house and kiss my a$$ to get a rec. letter, wouldn't you? See how shallow a culture we have when principals die so quickly for self interests? I've lost friends in combat and you cry about your xbox being on the frits..... Remind me that you wrote here when I sit on your interview board.

Default Alpa?

First thing I'd do as Master Chairman is find that express carrier representation as a conflict of interest and divest it immediately. That would go a long way in curing the cancer we have allowed the minor's management to perpetuate and foster to the detriment of junior pilots. It's fascinating the venom from you expressers....while a feebly you "get it" and it only proves my point that half do and half don't understand how the rj issue effects their careers. As far as you attempt to crap on me and attack my opinion, we Majors are supposed to be mentoring you minors but you are so full of yourselves and so full of the self ingratiating crap shoveled into you by your management and the parental self esteem stroking that you honestly believe you are soooo special that you should be on the 777 right out of the womb! Grow some whiskers, gain some depth, sit silently under the tutelage of those who actually did earn their stripes....and they are the ones who wear the uniform and not the costume.

I too have lost friends in combat, as have MANY others on this forum I'm sure, so watch who you lump into groups.

You speak of being a mentor, but just make snide comments and disheartening remarks to these younger pilots on this forum. HOW is that helping them? If you want to be a mentor, then do it correctly by informing them WHERE mistakes have been made in the past, HOW to correct the problems that you see in the industry, WHAT they can do to succeed and help the pilots that follow them.

Spitting on their dreams is no way to be a mentor and you should be ashamed of yourself for talking down to them like this.

I respect your posting and think you, and so far only you, seem to have a grip on the overall picture. Your posting was well written and thoughtful and I agree with you on the narrowing of the road to a Majors seat. This is a vicious cycle that we are allowing to happen to us and the profession. Those ebbs and flows in the pilot pipeline have been there since tine began and will continue but it is not an excuse to have inexperienced people flying unsuspecting passengers. You have acknowledged that express as a whole lack experience and have the desire to gain more, and I commend you for that. The express carriers are tapping a pool of unqualified people that desire to be Major pilots and have abused them for far too long. They have filled their heads with this ridiculous notion that they ARE airline captains and are right up there with the 400 jocks who fly the Asian routes. They are NOT! But from reading the responses other than yours, one can see this over inflated ego syndrome that allows these children to be so disrespectful to those who could help them achieve lofty goals. Even at Alcoholics Anonymous they say the first step to a cure us acknowledging the disease and most if those on here done even see the disease as it consumes their futures. short sighted? Hell Yes! These are the ones who think the rj is a good thing in their career path. Andy, I applaud your thoughtful insights and I respect that....the rest of you get just what you deserve, flying the lawn darts forever!

Come on guys, seriously. Just ignore him... That is the best medicine.

Back on track.... The projections for 3/14 haven't come out yet. Hopefully tomorrow so we can have an idea of what to expect! The last couple of classes didnt have any EMJ DFW so I'm hoping we get those slots back.
