I am in the AE July 4th class. Does anyone know if AE will allow their new hires to get an ATP as part of the type rating? I have passed the written and met all of the other ATP requirements. Any insight would be appreciated.

I have not, but I am very interested in hearing who has. I was hoping to get an email before yesterday, but it didn't happen. I am am a current CFII working on MEI, 4 year degree, military history, etc., etc., with 1300/80, but I also have a blemish on my record from five years ago that might make them over-look me.
I hope they don't though... Anyone who gets an email/call for an interview while below 800TT or 100 ME please keep us updated.

Weird... I wonder what is stopping mine. 1100/105 and not a peep. No checkride failures or tickets, plus 2 people sent in my resumes to HR. Good enough to get calls from ASA/ExpressJet and Colgan but not eagle. In before entitlement.

I did find it useful to use the "Compare App" tool at the end of your AirlineApps session. It lists AE's current requirements vs. what you have on your individual application. At the end it says this:
Additional Hiring CommentsAmerican Eagle’s minimum qualifications are as follows:
- Commercial Pilot Certification with multi-engine and instrument ratings
- Total fixed wing flight time of 500 hours
- Multi-engine fixed wing flight time of 50 hours
- 250 hours PIC
- Current FAA First Class Medical
- IFR Currency
- FCC License
- Ability to work in the US
- Ability to travel in and out of the US and to all cities/countries served by American Eagle
- Ability to relocate
- Minimum age 21
- Upon successful completion of the Recruitment Process, American Eagle will send pilots who qualify to complete ATP’s Regional Jet Standards Course
- Signed two year commitment to fly for American Eagle
I highlighted IFR Currency because they may be looking for that magic "6" number there. I currently have a "4" there for approaches, BUT, I had a recent Instrument Proficiency Check. So I think AirlineApps thinks I am not current. I am going to jump in the sim at work tomorrow and knock out a few approaches and update tomorrow evening.

Well, I won't be specific, but it was a driving infraction that resulted in arrest but no conviction. HOWEVER...

Everyone with an app in just be patient. With the lowering of the mins I'm sure they are innundated with applications and just need some time to sift through them all. Update your app once a week or every other week and it will get noticed. I know it's hard to stay patient but it's better than pulling your hair out from anxiety.
