The multi time DOES NOT all have to be PIC. Read the requirements on AirlineApps, 250 PIC.

American Eagle’s minimum qualifications are as follows:
•Commercial Pilot Certification with multi-engine and instrument ratings
•Total fixed wing flight time of 500 hours
•Multi-engine fixed wing flight time of 50 hours
•250 hours PIC
•Current FAA First Class Medical
•IFR Currency
•FCC License
•Ability to work in the US
•Ability to travel in and out of the US and to all cities/countries served by American Eagle
•Ability to relocate
•Minimum age 21
•Upon successful completion of the Recruitment Process, American Eagle will send pilots who qualify to complete ATP’s Regional Jet Standards Course
•Signed two year commitment to fly for American Eagle

* Pilot who have the standard minimum of 800 Total Time with 100 hours of Multi-engine will not be required to complete ATP’s Regional Jet Standards Course, or sign the two year commitment

My thoughts exactly. If they wanted it to be pic they would have specified that.

Glad the 250 hrs of PIC is now a requirement. 5 years ago that wasn't in there and now a handful of guys won't be able to upgrade without getting it one way. I bet alot of D.B.'s will be pencil whipping.

+1. Will be interesting to see what happens when these pilots start getting close to upgrading.

Its not a rumor, its an award that was given at the Paris air show. Doesnt mean they are the best, but then again there really isnt a "best" regional. They are all midpoints in most people's careers.
