Ok. This is weird, but please help if you can. Yesterday, as some of you know, I received a "Thanks, but no thanks" email from American Eagle Recruitment. Today I got a phone call that showed up "Unknown" on my caller ID. I did not answer, but when I checked my voice mail there was a message from a man with a very heavy Indian accent addressing my full name and claiming to be from American Eagle Airlines to schedule an interview. This sounds great, right? He attempted to leave a phone number for me to call, but I cannot make out his speech after listening like 20 times. what I can make out clearly is 1 8 0 0 - X 4 3 - 2 6 7 6. I tried every number to replace the X with no joy. Can someone PM me the contact number possibly? Does this sound familiar? Please help.

EDIT: Nevermind, after a little research it seems likely that this is a complete scam. Someone overseas must have intercepted my email or some crap. Great, talk about a slap in the face... time to go change passwords and run virus scans...

When they call you, (at least for me) it will NOT show up as unknown or blocked, it will be from the 817 area code. The other thing too is that most of their correspondence is done via email. The interview was scheduled over the phone, but after that it was all email..

Sorry to hear you got scammed so close to getting the letter. KEEP APPLYING!!! dont stop til you get what you want. Good luck...

The only unknown number that you will start receiving is from Crew Scheduling when you start flying out of training.

Anyone else experiencing some training issues. The computer ground school is meh and then the real groud school is really rushed. Then it's right from oral to sim with no time off. Sim is okay but VERY fast paced. Straight into approaches and no time spent on aircraft control. The instructors point out that you should of done approaches in FMS lab but they were not. They just shrug and pass on an unsat. Single engine day comes and again straight into approaches and no work on aircraft control. Most of the ground and sim instructors admit there are shortcomings with the training but nothing changes. This is very frustrating to all of us.

Yes at Eagle we are having a few issues with trainig, but come on man... Need time to work on aircraft control, go back to flight training... The instructors are not here to teach you how to fly... Get on the horse and go, know your profiles and fly the airplane. You are complaining about the barbie jet, go try the ATR and tell me about aircraft control on a V1 cut. Anyway is supposed to be fast paced and you are an adult who will fly people for a living so leave tue complaining behind. Ok rant off

Excellent advice. Sim is for approaches/emergencies and company procedures.

Make sure you know your profiles, memory items and limitations cold. 121 training is fast paced. Most places will not hold your hand, the burden is on you to make sure you succeed; if you are not prepared, most companies will only give you so many extra sim sessions before they wash you out. Good luck and study!

I would assume he is referring more to getting an overall feel for the airplane, I'm sure (I would hope) he knows how to control an airplane. Why so harsh? It's a new environment for most people and everyone learns new information in different ways.

Well... ok.. I stand corrected then. Sim is NOT for approaches/emergencies and company procedures.
