So I'm a punk now? Okaaaay.

Flywife and Rick,

One started looking up info for her "?yet to start training?" husband just a couple month ago, the other only have been hired 7 months ago at his first regional. I can't believe the the arrogant/ know it all attitude the both of you have.

Maybe Rick can non-rev you on his AWESOME travel benefit to one of his overnights and you two can talk about how great eagle is.

Actually, we had flight benefits before, so I do know a little about them. I don't think my comment about Eagle's benefits was arrogant-sorry if it came across as such. :)

That way is fair for everyone. If you really need to get there you get a pass that will put you ahead of all other non revs. And if you are in the middle of a connection then you will also be aged in the line. If they did what you are suggesting then people would walk up to the counter 20 before departure and try to get onthe flight asthey do with the j/s, that would make a night mare for commuters.

Well, I guess you better stay at AE and work yourself onto AA's roster because you'll get a rude nonrev/commuting awakening going anywhere else. Last time I checked seniority does mean something at about 95% of the other carriers, which includes travel benefits. Just because AE/AA do it a certain way doesn't mean it's a global standard. Pull your nose down a little bit and you might actually see reality! As for flywife, yeah maybe she shouldn't name call but she does have a valid point when it comes to seniority, regardless of how many years or months she's been around the business.

For the twenty years I've been here, it's always been a first come, first served process. My wife and I travel frequently and have NEVER heard any employee complain about the process - which I really like, btw. The system encourages people to get on the standby list as early as possible (up to 24 hours ahead) and rewards those who get on the list as early as possible. As far as I'm concerned, AA/AE has the best non rev system in the business. That's only my opinion and others will surely disagree.

The only problem I really have with AA/AE benefits is that you have to pay per leg and pay for an upgrade to first class. When we had DAL benefits, we paid like $50 up front per person to get the benefits and didn't pay anything else unless we traveled overseas, and then we only paid airport taxes.

NAH, in all honesty. I'm bored and its fun to ruffle some feathers and listen to people cry about how great their airline is. Especially newbies to 121. Also, I don't Jumpseat on AE. the 145 cockpit sux and way to cramped. Besides, you guys don't go anywhere I can't get to on our company equipment and our JS capabilities are just as good as yours my young friend. :)

Sooo you've been at Colgan what, a year? I recall you bashing Colgan too before you got on with them.

Colgan hires pilots with multiple failure, thats the reason Eagle shot him down...

AA/AE 5 hr flight will cost you about $40 in first class (taxes and fees) . Still $10 less than the $50 upfront + whatever taxes you have to pay in DAL. BTW after 5 yrs working on AMR non/rev is free. Still beating the $50 upfront with DAL.

Annnnd everyone is happy. ;)

Flywife 09-07-2011 04:28 PM

That's for one flight-the DAL benefits were $50 up front ONE TIME not per flight. It was a yearly fee. Sorry-I wasn't clear.
