But isn't the CFI course part of your degree plan and isn't the flight portion part of the course requirement? This is the first I have heard of this problem. The intent of the grandfathering clause was to prevent this kind of thing from happening. Have you verified all this with the VA because there is so much misinformation out there with the 9/11 GI BILL you could drive a Mack Truck through it.
I would look at any public colleges you could transfer into or find a 141 school and use your $10k/yr benefit to finish your CFI'S.

It is apart of the degree plan, but the flight portion is now not covered. They grandfather clause only permitted students who were enrolled in a course before August 1st to finish that course. After that, all flight fees would be the responsibility of the student.
We have all been back and forth making sure this is legit. There are about 200 VA students at Riddle Daytona that are/were affected by this.

That's exactly right. It's a hard pill to swallow considering it's about 12k to do the CFI/CFII here on your own dime. Money which most of us Vets do not have.

I interviewed on the 21st and I was given a conditional offer by the captain's board on Sept 30th (they called me to notify me). They sent me an email with a document to sign and now Im waiting for a date to do the medical.
It is really hard to be patient... I would love to start studying something but I have no material.... does anybody knows a good website or thread on this forum that talks about the training at eagle? I might do the erj if I have the opportunity.

Also, if you were to study right now, you'd be doing it for free. Once you get to training, you get PAID
to study $$!!That's how I justified it! Good luck!
