Can someone help me out with with reserve? I know I have to proffer the day before between 11-3. Then the awards get posted at 5. I cant remember the RAP 1 and 2 times. RAP is a 2 hour call out is that right? What are some typical times for sitting ready reserve?

Why would you do this?

Cause VF sucks. I got my own pants cause the company that came out, their pants fit horribly. The shirts were meh, Crew Outfitters had nicer stuff. Sure you can't get payroll deduct but you can submit an expense report for them and get some $$ back.

The uniforms are issued during ground school. The cost is deducted from your paycheck in installments although it is pretty inexpensive. I think the cost is paid back in six months. The company issued uniforms aren't always the best quality and the fit can be pretty poor. At least for me it was. The shirts fit me like parachutes as does the jacket.

The company may use several vendors to provide uniforms so the quality and sizing can vary depending on what company they use and when. It may be luck if you get some good quality and fitting uniforms.

You might try on the company uniforms to see how they fit. If you don't like them, only get one or two of what you need initially. The nice thing about the company uniforms is you can order them through Jetnet, they're usually very inexpensive compared to other sources, and the cost can come directly from your paycheck.

Crew Outfitters has a shop at the academy and also DFW. They have better quality uniform shirts IMO. The sizing is also much better and you can try on the shirts to see how they fit. The Crew Outfitter shirts are also less expensive at the academy as compared to Crew Outfitters online. You can save $10.00 on the Oxford shirts buying them at the academy as opposed to buying them online. Of course, they have to have your size in stock.....

There are also several places online for good uniform selections. Here's a short list:

A Cut Above

FlyByStore.com - Pilot Store & Crew Shop

BomCrew

Stop-Over Store

Crew Outfitters

Good luck on the interview.

I didn't know we could get partially reimbursed. Thanks for the tip! I have some money coming to me.

Drinks for everyone!

You said the uniforms were issued at ground school, what is the attire during ground school and training? Uniforms or business casual or something?

Business casual/nice jeans/with some limits. You will be told before you pack for ground school, and we were briefed ("read to") when we started. Wish you success!
