But wouldn't they be backfilling OCE unless they specifically said "we will no backfill the first xx OCE"? meaning they still need the staffing in those positions..so the rest are indeed "new captain" slots?

Ex. If 18 or less OCE go somewhere, they wont be replaced. Now; if 19 OCE go somewhere, now there is 1 OCE position open. 6 SCA and 4SFA wont be backfilled. Thats a reduction there.NOT Good.

27ordc, 6lgac, 14dfwe, 14laxe, 72miae, -9nce, 18oce, 4dca, 6sca 36 dcc

VB wants 27 OCC, 6NCC, 14 DCE, 14LCE and 72 MCE for a total of 133 "captain positions"

minus no backfills for 9 NCE, 18 OCE, 4DCA, 6SCA and ALL 36DCC displacements..so that's 71 positions that aren't needed anymore

144-71 = 62 new captain positions

am I getting warmer? :)

Yup. You get it. No Backfills and Displacements are never good news.

Well they're shrinking Dallas and a few other bases...but overall the airline is growing and there are more new upgrades as a result..so I view it as good news

I interviewed in sept 22 and my class date is nov 22. Most likely from 1 to 2 months. Btw all my paperwork got there before one week. Also I got the call from the review board 3 weeks later.

Congratulations! :)

Actually minus 6 from that. There is only FO vacancies for the CRJ in LGA, not CA.

Any idea what the most junior CA DOH will be after this bid?
