That is correct, but as Magic was implying there are a lot of things up in the air regarding Eagle staffing in the immediate future. Mainly the DFW CRJ base and SJU ATR base. The company has stated they are eliminating the DFW CRJ bid status and it will be a matter of time before they have to run a displacement bid for those pilots. When they displace those DFW CRJ pilots they might force a newhire out of his/her position even if they are still in training. If you were awarded DFW ATR FO on Day 1 of training, then there was a big displacement bid you could be forced out of your position even before you finished IOE.

As of now, there havent been any displacements so nothing is for sure and the company has also stated they are trying to minimize the displacements by offering lots of vacancy bids (upgrades). Just an FYI for those who are entering training right now.

Well thats why I'm relaxed and unworried, whatever a new hire gets its better than nothing. So let's hope for the best for everyone.

See you guys in class.

Ps: my friend who is in training right now called me and told me that je heard that this class will have 50 persons. =S

I wouldnt call it official, but I took the 10/13/10 ALPA seniority list which was updated through the October Vacancy bid (the one before this massive one) and then counted how many transferred in/out of the given bid statuses from this most recent massive vacancy bid award. Those numbers should be pretty accurate.

Yea, that will have a huge impact. The ALPA email we recently received said the company is planning on up to 150 AE CAs gone by June 2011. That would reduce the need for a displacement bid. There are lots of high numbered flowthroughs who are currently DCC, but only a handful who are SCA.

Yea, I wouldnt worry about being furloughed or anything drastic. It will all work out in the end. If they start pumping 50 newhires per class through the system then that will be amazing, and the most I have ever seen or heard of! But I dont think it is impossible.

Da Magic 11-13-2010 03:32 PM

I should say vaca/disp bid, other way doesn't make sense.

24 jfk fo will not be backfilled, does that mean bottom 24 fos will be displaced out of base?

No, it only means that the first 24 who choose to leave that bid position will not be replaced.
