I know of people over here in the west coast that fly/manage PC-12's and make $90-150K a year. I think its a great airplane to network into a corporate job, as many owners begin flying fractionals to get a taste of owning. Plus PC-12's don't require large suitcases for the most part.

Best advice I ever heard from a former Eagle Captain was, "Get out of Eagle as soon as you can, never be blinded by the word "seniority", since that will hold you back from advancing your career". He's now a Captain on a Gulfstream G4 and Citation based in San Diego making twice the pay he would have earned at Eagle and spends more time at home.

Everybody's situation is different, just weigh the pro's and con's and you'll make the right decision for yourself.

I did a little over a year in NYC but right now my seniority there would suck so I had to chase it out to ORD.

I do have a wife and we are looking at having kids in the next couple years.

I would go from a 45 min drive to BOS/2.5 hr flight to ORD...to a nice 45 minute drive.

The goal was always to go corporate/fractional but at this point I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there. I have 2100 TT 650 Turbine 900 Multi 1300 PIC. I'm not sure if another year at Eagle would help me out that much if I can go and get some 135 PIC.

I am basically telling my self not to be blinded by seniority and to just make the jump but it's easier said than done.

I'm still probably 900 from an upgrade...I think my seniority is in the upper 2600's or lower 2700's. I don't see the current movement we've seen continue consistently for another 2 years. It would be to say that half of the current eagle is leaving.

Just wanted to summarize what your saying to maybe help you see the answer your looking for.

You would be going to a fractional job, so I think that alone, helps you in the future to get on with corporate/fractionals vs. staying at the airlines. Fractionals/corporate flying is all about customer service which you will gain if you haven't previously worked 91/135. Now will the PC-12 be single pilot? If not, how long until Captain upgrade? If it is single pilot PC-12 flying in the Northeast, I'd say that looks pretty damn good on a resume to Netjets, Flexjet, etc. I would get in contact with a recruiter from the fractionals and see what they have to say if that helps to clear things up.

I know the company you are thinking about. Pay is about the same as an eagle FO, and scheds are 7on/7off. But if Corp/frac flying is your goal then I would jump for it. Even if you want to go to the airlines later it would be possible with pc12 PIC. My buddy got on at jetblue with only caravan PIC. Good luck in PSM!

Now thats good news to hear, I guess they see the value in single pilot turbine PIC..

Personally, I'd opt for the ERJ. The pay is the same for FO's. We have over 200 ERJs and less than 50 CRJs. Once you bid a jet FO position you can't bid the other jet in most cases, unless displaced. Long term, there will be more lines and trips to trade with if you are on the ERJ in ORD. You may spend a little longer on reserve in the ERJ, but not long as we will hire 300 in 2011. No matter where your life takes you, you would be able to commute to the corners of the US if you bid the ERJ. Eagle seems to be unsure about the utilization of the CRJ fleet. DFW, ORD, NYC, it's all up in the air right now. You don't want to be chasing equipment while junior. Hope this helps, remember it's just how I see it. Get some more advice before choosing.

Thanks for the info. I have an interview coming up at the end of the month so I should probably just focus on that first:). I just like to gather all the information I can to make the best choices for my situation. How long is the call out for reserve? I'm from MKE, wondering if ORD reserve is doable from here?

2 hour call out, I doubt you would make it from MKE in time considering the traffic.
