Anything can stop this at anytime. You guys were probably in middle school when 9/11 happened. Guys were literally pulled out in the middle of sim sessions etc, Gas prices rising right now MIGHT damper all this planning. Bottom line, plan for today, prepare for the worse.

Flying a turbo prop will be the most fun you'll ever have at an airline.

Considering the retirements that will occur at AA over the next decade there will be movement at AE. You are correct to prepare for contingencies.

After explaining he lives within an hour of LGA, which is not an ATR base, why wouldn't he want a jet to avoid a commute. Take it easy on the guy.

Agree, if the ATR was in LGA, he'd probably want that. Make life easier live where you work. It seems most of the folks have been getting the jet over the ATR anyways. A lot of the newhires went into the ATR in the last few months, and they are all seat locked. DFW ATR Fo's have been able to drop, and some rsv guys last month didn't even fly. It appears the staffing on those aircraft are sufficient, this month!

At 22 he is lucky.Again, he should prepare for a SJU commute.
