.......additionlly, a guy put up a link to what the RAH guys are going through (and they MAY be one of the future feeders for AA) on the "pilots interested in working at RAH" thread and even with E-jets, it's not pretty there (the intoxication of new, shiny planes wears off quickly when pilot abuse escalates). I posted I believe that is what AMR would like to proliferate on their property and how that would be bad for ALL segments of pilots. I suggested he link it here for reference (especially now that Eagle pilots will be getting the first look at their future) and what to try and avoid.

Something to consider anyway.

Going to be hard for eagle to match rah's bid for 175 flying. Unless you guys take a big concession on pays with all the senior guys there. Where's the line that needs to be drawn?? Hold your ground and say no to concessions and probably lose the flying which results in comair situation? Or take the concession and secure the job for the foreseeable future but kick yourself in the butt for lowering the bar? So sad this predicament we are being put under at any regionals.

Although I don't feel we're in the greatest position, I still try to stay optimistic. RAH is already having a difficult time recruiting new pilots and is "voluntarily" raising first year pay to what I believe was said to be $30/hr. Hopefully, this will be the start of raising the bar at all regionals.
The pilot group at RAH has said enough is enough and stood their ground by voting to strike. I can't see AMR awarding new flying to an airline that is on the verge of a major strike. Should be interesting to see what happens on Wed...

AMR will get E-jets of at least E-175 size (76-seat) and quite possibly a number of 88-seat E-190's similar to the competitons number of 90-seaters. Who will fly how many is what they may need to move forward on determining and for that they need to OFFICIALLY engage with ALPA (and ultimately Eagle pilots). Unless ALPA intends to overstep the pilot group and unilaterally vote for MEC ratification, whatever comes down the pike will be put up for vote (with the usual threat of take-it-or leave it, we'll go to the judge, etc.) by the pilots, so it seems they're ready to move forward. It wouldn't surprise me tyo see a lot of "murk" in the 1113. It will have pay rates, methodologies for determining them and adjusting them, work rule alterations and benefit adjustments, but it may not have specifics to future fleet size or any guarantee of flying. It will likely have caveats that more flying will be awarded to Eagle then not, if AMR's proposals are agreed to.

I think they want to pin down your numbers first and then decide how much of the pie Eagle will do and how much they will be on the hook for seeking other bids for. Just my opinion on that..............
I agree with this, we might also see them come around for a second round after SCOPE is ironed out!

I wonder if AMR really cares whether Republic or anyone else can do the job as much as they care about the predicted savings to report back to Wall ST.

Case in point, AA's airplanes barely have wifi. Delta on the other hand has wifi on most of their fleet plus the regional fleet as well.

So I'm not entirely convinced AMR management cares too much about their product right now. Most of their bread and butter is from SA so those flights are relatively short.

As far as Eagles longevity problem, the small sample of senior guys I've spoken to say they'll do whatever it takes.

We'll see.

AMR does not care. I always encourage friends-family to fly the competition before flying AA when they can for a better experience. From old dirty "Super"80's to old rattled 76's.Plus their flight crews aren't a big help either.

AA flight attendants are by far the meanest. Only nice ones are the TWA ones.

Once they know your Eagle its even worst.

I can't remember a time that AA FA was rude to me, in uniform or out. They usually try to help me if I need to store my bags. When I commuted to KSJU, usually I was offered free food. More than one lent a sympathetic ear if I had a bad day.
