Ya but is it worthwhile trying to run a mainline sized aircraft out to some of these places?

I'm referring to the islands in the Caribbean and Bahamas. I see the ATR's out there a lot what is going to directly replace that?

Cruz you guys don't fly in the Caribbean, you fly in the Bahamas! AMR already announced that they ATR will be gone from Miami by late fall, the ERJ is set to cover much of this flying! As far as the Caribbean I wouldn't be surprised to see CRJ or another aircraft equivalent out of Miami doing the routes that don't support an AA 737. The ERJ goes to La Romanam, DR add another 30 minutes and they could be serving STT & STX. The reason I say CRJ or equivalent is that the ERJ is not certified for ditching where the CRJ is (currently Eagle is not configured for this). But as long as you keep a spec of dust within 50 miles they are fine and it's being done already!

We all have a horse in this game because what comes out of this is gona effect all pay for service operations. The obvious, union/contract busting at its worst. I agree with some of u guys its time to make a statement. I say stay home for a good week, and I mean all of us. But till we can organize something like that I guess we will always just take it up the tail pipe. Good luck guys!

Exactly right. The message that needs to get through is that this is going to HURT ALL PILOTS.

It's going to hurt all Regionals by dragging down the pay, etc
It's going to hurt the profession by the same.
It's going to hurt the Majors.

THIS IS GOING TO HIT EVERYONE, one way or another.

Time to stand up and stand UNITED.
