If only it worked that way. If you clear BK under the term sheet, you're basically negotiating like it's your first CBA. No strike and AMR can drag that out a half decade or more.

"It will be said that the despot assures his subjects civil tranquility... What do they gain, if the very tranquility they enjoy is one of their miseries? Tranquility is found also in dungeons; but is that enough to make them desirable places to live in? The Greeks imprisoned in the cave of the Cyclops lived there very tranquilly, while they were awaiting their turn to be devoured."

Rousseau

That is exactly what our MEC is trying to foist on us by trying to convince us it is better to come to an agreement with the company than go before the judge. They keep trotting out these arguments that it will be better for us to negotiate and to concede.

that is what you get when there are no BALLS involved in negotiation.
TG and DR have made those arguments for years and they keep coming back with watered down CBA. Because all they had to do is maintain a majority on the MEC Board since they were the only ones who voted on our contracts.

That is why TG and DR are not allowing a LEC BASE Meeting in ORD, because of the recall process would recall the two ORD reps and TG and DR will lose the majority and then they would also face a recall themselves.

The only reason TG and DR want to maintain the majority is to stay in power and almost guaranteed that they will pass the the new negotiated contract themselves. Dont be3 fooled that TG and DR will not allow the passing of there negotiated contract. They have already made the deal, we are just going through the motions so ALPA wont be sued.

There has been no announcement that SJU is closing. It was pure conjecture.

Sju is closing, or at least all ATRs are gone.
I'll show my displeasure with my feet. Interviews for other places lined up, this job is not worth having anymore.

Most of Caribbean Islands are served by AA from the US. As much as I hate to see SJU close, there is no need to have PAX connect there any more, SJU was an asset when the islands airports were small and unable to support larger equipment, but most of these airports have been updated. EIS & DOM are the only 2 airports that I can think of on top of my head that can't support AA equipment.
