Default Atr tdy

Need some scheduling/contract gurus here. The Miami ATR lines now have a "T" in them to represent TDY in SJU. Then we received an HI6 that said reserve lines will also be TDY in SJU after the 15. So does this mean

1) we are all involuntarily being sent on TDY? If so then i should be able to bid a line in SJU for the last have of the month correct?

2) if this is TDY then I'm going to assume we get per diem the whole time correct?

3) is this even contractually legal? I know we're in bankruptcy but i thought a TDY had to be something we bid???

4) I saw an additional email that states the LA guys who bid the ATR in Miami will not have their request honored.....sorry but it's a plane on the property so I'm not sure where the contract ( I know, there that word again) says you can just choose not to honor it.

Final thought; if we're bankrupt how much will 50+ hotel rooms along with 24x7 per diem cost versus sending us home until a training class is worked out?

This is legal, the company is placing your entire base in TDY status so they can do it for as long as they wish, and no you can't bid a line for the ned of the month but you can bid a line for the following month if you will continue to be TDY. Half month TDY lines are nothing new.

2) if this is TDY then I'm going to assume we get per diem the whole time correct?

It depends, if the company is going to keep you TDY the whole time then yes, but if they are going to A pass you to and form SJU for your days off then you "probably" won't get perdiem 24/7

3) is this even contractually legal? I know we're in bankruptcy but i thought a TDY had to be something we bid???

You bid for TDY, you can only be involuntary TDY twice in a calendar year, unless your whole base has been involuntary TDY in that year, MIA ATR as a whole is involuntary TDY so everyone can be involuntary TDY until you guys go to training.

4) I saw an additional email that states the LA guys who bid the ATR in Miami will not have their request honored.....sorry but it's a plane on the property so I'm not sure where the contract ( I know, there that word again) says you can just choose not to honor it.

this is the first time I hear about this, but what will happen is these guys will never go to training and will be TDY to other ERJ bases until they run another displacement bid for SJU and then these guys will be displaced once again.

Home based lines will save the company plenty of coin, we just have to see how it will be implemented

That is your new contract. The parts that help the company will be implemented yesterday, those that help you, well the mec is busy right now fixing the next lec vote but he will get back to you next year.

Can anyone shed a light on why Eagle is planning to hire 100 pilots this year and 400 next year.

I asked one of our union reps for you. Essentially we are losing 180 FO's per year.....15 per month. Only 15 furloughs showed out of 70.

The company expects attrition to pick up with FO's having ATP's. They are also worried that not many folks meet the new experience requirements. Additionally, if American ever comes to an agreement with the APA then Eagle "could" see movement in the 824 pilots that can flow to American.

That is all I know.
BTW: expect a non-precision approach during the sim portion.
