nice thanks for the info. I interviewed Nov 10th, but found out last week my last employer never faxed over all the pre employment papers ... I think it all should have been in this week ..so hoping they got me in the review board for today.

As for the latest apparent fleet plan, LAX and JFK will both see CRJ flying introduced in 2011 (moreso for LAX), however it appears all this flying will be done by ORD based crews.
Any guesses on how long of reserve in ORD for new hires? Someone posted about the ability to drop days; is this realistic as a new hire on reserve?

Also, what are typical trips at Eagle like? How many legs, length of duty, overnights, etc?

Min days off for lineholders?

Not sure how long the reserve wait is running at the moment, but dropping days can happen...but dont hold your breath on it. It depends on staffing, and we are entering a period where we will be super short on pilots and hiring as fast as we can. Youll have better luck swapping trips to get days off in my opinion.

Typical trips at Eagle on the ERJ in ORD are 4 day trips, 3-5 legs per day, 18-23hrs per 4-day trip. Duty days can be anywhere from 7hrs-14hrs(they cant schedule more than 14) and overnights from 8-17+hrs with the average running around 10-14hrs. There are some lines with day trips, 2-day trips, and sometimes 3-day trips but they go very senior and you wont need to worry about them for a while

Min days off for lineholders is 12, but I have seen lines with 11 days off for some reason... Min reserve days off is 11.

When did you guys lose the min scheduled overnight as 8.5 hours? Back in the day, they used to reduce it when we ran late to 8, but they never were allowed to schedule 8 to begin with.... what did you guys get during the amendment round for that one?

When I was there, I never did reduced rest anyway... always got my 8 behind the door. A few friends that still work there say they will give anybody 8 behind the door if they call and ask for it. What's been your experience?

Yea they cant schedule anything less than 8.5, so my post should have read "8.5-17+hrs for overnights."

If I have an 8hr overnight and I feel rested in the morning then I go to work and do my job. If I have a 17hr overnight where I dont sleep well and feel like crap in the morning I call in fatigued. The company has always been great about honoring our fatigue policy and I've never had any issues, or heard of anyone getting crap for calling in fatigued.

Fatigue and rest required are something personal to every pilot. I can usually hit the pillow and get a good night sleep on an 8hr overnight. Some people are too wired when they get to the hotel and need some time to wind down. Some people are light sleepers and wake up easily in the middle of a 17hr overnight because of noise in the hallway. Some people sleep through fire alarms!

The people who do biatch are the ones who feel fatigued, but dont do anything about it.

I just heard from an interviewer that Eagle wants 550 newhires by May. He says they only have 600 apps on file. If you have 1000/100, apply immediatley. They need you.

550? Holy crap, I guess they must be expecting American to flow more Eagle guys up.

Probabaly based on the flowthrough situation, but 550 seems too high.

AE will only be getting another 180 or so max over to AA by then and then AA has to start calling furloughed AA natives, so it would seem 360 would be a better number. Not sure how many apps they have, but 600 to hire 360 is pretty lean for a company that wants to be able to weed out the nimrods.
