Proposed new pay package for SkyWest
#385
1. Higher MDG (Helps hedge against the new Rest Rules and Mgmt Inefficiencies)
2. Trip Rig (Helps hedge against the new Rest Rules and Mgmt Inefficiencies)
3. Complete Reserve System Rewrite
4. Higher Per Diem
5. Better staffing transparency
6. Improved Health Care
7. Higher 401K match
8. More days off for reserves
9. Minimum Monthly Guarantee for training (New Hire, Transition, Upgrade)
10. MDG and Duty Rigs used for Training events (AQP, Charm School, etc.)
11. Increase in First Year Pay
12. Commuter Policy
Our proposed EMB rates are less than Colgan’s new rates and 8% less than Masada’s. Our RJ rates are mostly equal to or less than ASA/XJT current rates and our 1st yr pay is among the lowest in the industry.
As for getting more later, that's up to Mgmt and settling for hopefully getting more later is one of the reasons why regional pay is so low. Mgmt expects us to think about tomorrow and not today.
This Pay Package is just barely better than industry average but without leverage that’s about all we can get.

No, I don't disagree. I hope Skywest pilots get everything you listed.
Unfortunately, I don't think it will happen - never, ever. In my opinion, the only way to get those things AND have any kind of long term job security is to move on to a major airline. I do realize, however, not every Skywest pilot wants to or has the option to do that.
Voting a collective "no" to the current pay package means nothing to St. George except that they get to keep paying the current rate, and Skywest pilots get to keep working for the current rate.
Chip probably rolls around on the ground in his office laughing every time the pilot group votes "no" to a pay package.
(To be honest, I don't blame him.)
