Fair? Very little in this industry is fair: mergers, bankruptcies, furloughs, contracts.
Mergers suck...

yes I can, as soon as you can make a case as to why airplanes bought with Pinnacle Inc pilot's money in violation of scope should not be flown by Pinnacle Inc pilots....and don't feed us your usual "it's not alter ego/Pinnacle Corp" junk...

What UAL/CAL/USA flying did 9L "take" from 9E?

So much for the 3 pilot groups getting along. Is bickering about things beyond our control at the moment going to accomplish anything? I don't care what list you are on, for heaven's sake shut up. It does no good, for anybody.
We all know 9E, and XJ have senior groups when compared to 9L. That doesn't make it right to send one's droppings to the generally more junior group. Nor does it make it right for the junior group to be put above a guy at either of the other two companies who has earned the perks of seniority. But there is probably some middle ground to be found. What it is, I don't know and I won't pretend to as it is up to the MEC's to hammer out. None of us had a choice when it came to these companies merging. We know 9E guys have been negotiating their contact forever and we know XJ has a good contract. We all know Colgan got the Q's with money made by 9E pilots. It wasn't the choice of 9L pilots, no vote, to my knowledge, was offered. It is in the past and nothing can be done about it. We can, however, still help our future.
I say this as a junior pilot on one of the lists, I harbor no bitterness towards any of the pilots at any of the carriers, it will do us no good. Bickering is like wiping before you poop. Something to do but ultimately, there is no point. I hope this contract and ensuing SLI are done in a way that protects our jobs first, offers us all an improved contract second and as fairly as possible to all three groups, every pilot, top to bottom on all three lists, integrates all of us. Odds are we're all going to feel a little benefit and all will have to take a big bite of suck sandwich as a result of this.

etflies, I'm sure 99% of the people here agree with your post, but that 1% (axialflow and 1 or 2 others) are the 2 bad apples in your pilot group who really have no clue what happened or is happening and most posts are directed at them to try to educate them....but it's hard arguing with the "it's my upgrade me me me" crowd.....
so it's not really bickering between the groups, just bickering between us and 2 people of your group

Mooney, I understand, that makes sense I just would hate to see any animosity between the 3 groups start up already. Like I said I have a feeling there is a nice picnic of sh*tburgers being grilled up for all of us to snack on so we might as well focus on how to get the best agreement we can given the circumstances.
Anyway, just my $0.02 and with what I make...I don't have much there to go on

Some Facts about Colgan and the Q's
Before our purchase by Pinnacle, Colgan flew Saabs for UsAir, United, Continental.
Before our purchase by Pinnacle, Colgan made the deal to fly the Q400 for Continental.
Colgan was purchased by Pinnacle for our code share agreements with those airlines with hope for future jet flying with them. Colgan was also purchased for our deal with Continental to fly the Q400. Pinnacle was a good partner because they had cash to finance the deal.
There has been alot of talk about how Pinnacle pilots had more of a right to fly the Q then the Colgan pilots. Although I acknowledge the fact that Pinnacle financed the Q400 fleet and thank them as I would thank my banker for such; Colgan made the deal for those planes. Colgan pilots deserved to fly them.
Soon we will be one group and you will get your wish to fly one...that is if you still want to.
