It is also my understanding that Richard Anderson gave Pinnacle holdings the cash to purchase XJ. Of course at a good percentage rate. XJ had no say in that one either.

I was just in recurrent. And the Union guys were able to tell us process information and not much of what the contract is going to look like.

First off the contract must be accepted by all the MEC's. Then the thing has to be voted on by all of us. I believe they are trying to make this a whole group thing as opposed to an XJ v. 9E v. Colgan thing.

The merger committees can't even start discussing the SLI until the final contract is done between the MEC's and management at the earliest. If they start looking at the SLI and any of the MEC's can't resolve the contract, the merger committee must stop the SLI process. If any of the merger committee can't resolve the list then the SLI process stops. Then it goes to arbitration.

I was left very confident that I will end up being in my position, aircraft, and base when this whole thing is done. I think all of Colgan and Pinnacle should feel the same confidence.

The other thing is that merger policy and maybe employment laws state that no one group may have a windfall. Whatever that means.

From just the few things I heard, I think we are being reasonable in our ask of the new contract. Colgan will get significant gains (rightly so) and I will get less of one.

I guess I am not sure the synergies are enough to make Uncle Phil sign off in 45 days but it will be an interesting and busy next 4 weeks. Good luck to all of us.

How did you know? Richard opened his wallet and gave Pinnacle money. LMFAO Your understanding is wrong. Apples and Oranges. So far, only the 2 aircraft from August were transferred to Mesaba from Pinnacle - they have already been returned.
Delta issues Pinnacle a LOAN for the money they needed to purchase Mesaba. They are making money on the cash advance. If Delta didnt give it to Pinnacle, bonds or stock would have been used to come up with it.

9-11 was outside of our control. This merger is within our control. Apples and oranges. As for 9E guys going without a contract for so long? They need to look in a mirror. As cold as it sounds, they allowed it to happen.

Whether or not we're coming out "good" remains to be seen. That's assuming we're going to get a decent TA. The FO's at Colgan carefully weighed their decision to come here for a quick upgrade. We didn't come here for a "great" contract, and can afford to live without one for a while...a LONG while if need be.

I guess I am supposed to say that you personally cracked open your wallet and contributed a few bucks, right? With pilots being the cheap f---ks we are...we know THAT didn't happen!

Axial it is quite humorous that you figure only Colgan fo's come with career expectations, not Colgan CA's, Pinnacle and Mesaba FO's, or Pinnacle and mesaba CA's.....

I've said it many times, anyone who chases PIC time with blinders on and insists that he be upgraded in 2-3 years (cause thats what the flight school said ot that's what the timeline was back then) is gonna get zero sympathy from me when the music stops. If you can't realize this is a dynamic industry with multiple economic variables affecting upgrade well you need to change industries...so to think that you as a Colgan FO deserves to be upgraded before a 9e or mesaba FO just cause "it was your career expectation" is quite amazing....

When I met the upgrade requirements and put my bid in I was met with the first displacement notice a few days afterwards.... That was a couple years ago. My "expectation" began at the timeline where guys that are now Q CA's weren't even hired yet. The table goes both ways, but as soon as we start playing the "entitlement" game this entire process between 3 groups makes the Usair/America West debacle look like it was a smooth operation...... If you want that you may want to see how that worked out for them 5+ years later. I am frankly disturbed to see the mindset of "we will stay at the bottom pay and QOL of any carrier in the world just to hopefully upgrade"- that is the epitome of a "whipsaw" mentality. What happens when the music stops as mooney described? It has happened before, it will happen again, no matter what we do as pilots the economic engine that propels this industry is not in our control and frankly only manipulated by management to the slightest degree. Without dealing with the future as one combined force with a contract that treats all as "Professional Pilots" we are shooting ourselves in the foot just before the marathon. Think about it all on a macro level instead of the micro level of simply "Colgan FO's".
