Relative could screw that subset of Pinnacle pilots, big time.
You're right, the whole dynamic of what's better for an individual changes as you move down the list.

To try to list off what is wrong with all your views and attitude is too numerous to bother.

Hopefully Colgan pilots with your attitude is in a small minority.

For those of you with limited experience with unions need to understand is that a unions primary mission is to protect your job, secondly it is there to make that job as profitable and your quality of life as livable as can be.

It accomplishes this in seniority order, from the top down. It is designed to protect the senior people first, this is the way it should be. You put your time in, you reap the benefits.

Don't expect for decisions to be made that favor the junior guys if there is a choice to be made between them and the senior guys.

Overall they will make everything as fair as possible for everyone though.

And to address your post, we can make this viscous cycle stop, and Pinnacle guys should be commended for standing strong for almost 6 years fighting the good fight.

Colgan guys are already receiving an XJ contract that is light years ahead of anything they could have negotiated on their own.

Please, Bartok...enlighten me as to what is "wrong" with my views, as you see it.

Again...we came here knowing full well there was no contract...and we still don't have one. I'll take the upgrade before the contract. But thanks for the kind sentiments, Cupcake

Treat me however you want and pay me whatever you think im worth. Change rules and policy by the day and scare pilots into doing whatever it takes in order to "move the rig."Make me so scared to call in sick that I will fly an unpressurized plane with a head cold and risk busting an ear drum. Do whatever you want to do to me as long as I get my upgrade.

Does this attitude seem flawed in a way?

So when you get this upgrade what now? Continue to get abused hoping to get enough time to go anywhere but here?

exactly. He is actually making me nervous with all that talk. I sure hope he is more mature and ready to upgrade than what is coming across here. Anyone who says I will take whatever abuse they can throw at me just as long as I can upgrade in my opinion isn't fit for upgrade. Its a position of responsibility and judgement. We all may not agree on a lot of things on here and even joke around or poke at each other but posting that upgrade is the most important thing shows real lack of judgement.

Upgrading isn't just moving to the left seat to get that magic PIC time that I have been hearing about for the last 3 years. Its a responsibility that needs to be taken seriously. Luckily most of the guys with that attitude dont make it through upgrade.

so, you knock 9e guys for not having a new contract (even though you are not at 9e and have zero clue as to the dynamincs going on there)...and God forbid we didn't take the company's "last, best and final" offer...

but then you have the "I don't need no stinkin contract me me me upgrade" stance.....kinda contradictory eh?

with attitudes like that we will never have a contract between the 3 of us....but I guess that's ok because you will be at FedEx as soon as you hit 1000 TPIC and not have to worry about that...

You have fun flying for the next 2 years as an FO before you attempt to pass upgrade, then for the following 4-5 years as a CA to get to a competitive level of PIC without a contract......cause you are now competing for a mainline job with guys that have been PIC for the past 4-5 years that are going to try to get on at a major at the next hiring cycle.....who will have about 10000+ total time and 5000+ jet PIC....compared to your 4000/1000....

Calm down, guys. I didn't know I was dealing with a bunch of Sensitive Sallys here. It's just my opinion...take it or leave it.
