It is the same plane with a section added in the middle. It will pay one more dollar on the FO side so why would you take the 900 and not the 200? It cannot be logged as heavy time contrary to some opinions.

Anything more substantial to support this? The word I've heard (aside from the bird) is that you will be allowed to jump the "fence" once...and then you're stuck on that certificate. Not saying it's true, just what I've heard.

LoudFastRules is correct. What you heard is completely wrong.

Section 24 of the TA.

As Seggy pointed out, you can bounce to your heart's content. As for fences, seeing as the SLI isn't even done, we don't even know if there will BE fences. I think it's a strong possibility at least in the short term, but nothing "for sure" has been said. In fact, if the SLI committees stick to what they've agreed, we won't know until the final award comes out. Anyone that says they know what's going on with the SLI hasn't a clue. The committees from all three properties aren't saying a word on anything by mutual agreement to keep the rumor mill from spinning into orbit.

Besides, the way Pinnacle Corp likes to staff, a Republic model where people couldn't voluntarily jump to a more favorable position on another certificate would kill them in the flexibility department. Why lock up the Saab FO that would otherwise upgrade to a CRJ-200 spot just because it's on another certificate? I'd imagine the only reason the seat and category locks are in the TA is to keep training costs at a minimum. We had a rash of "not enough qualified bidders" back when things were moving hard and heavy at 9E. I don't think they really want to start canceling flights due to no CAs (again) when they've got Q and Saab FOs that would be willing to bid into those positions. Or, on the flip side, Q400 CA openings that CRJ FOs would be willing to bid into.

The "fence" I was referring to was the imaginary one seperating the two seperate certificates. Mark answered my question.

Does anybody know how the HR dept is operating for now? I was turned down by "colgan" by a Pinnalce HR person. They said I wasn't selected to go further in the interview process eventhough I'd already interviewed.

I'm trying to determine if this will hinder my chances with Pinnacle itself. Does anyone have any insight into this?

if a pinnacle hr person did your interview for Colgan, its safe to say pinnacle hr will conduct the interview for pinnacle (they're the parent company). Clear as mud?

Clear as mud is all too accurate. My interview was actually at Mesaba HQ. I was intially contacted by Colgan but offered the interview by Mesaba for Colgan. I was interviewed at Mesaba HQ by Mesaba HR and Colgan pilots. They offered me the job...

After a few weeks with no word, I called Mesaba who didn't have a clue as to what was going on with my case but would get back to me. I then recieved an email from a PINNACLE hr person that said I wasn't selected to go further in the interview process...but I'd already INTERVIEWED. I just decided to leave well enough alone.

But, since this time, I've applied to Pinnacle so I'm just curious what I'm in for. Yep, clear as mud!

I would double check. I would call and tell them you were offered the job. Things are messy with these 3 companies right now. They may have made a mistake
