From: Contract Piper Cheyenne II
I received the same email. Several times. I unable to get the recent time requirements due to a slow down in my contract pilot flying(Piper Cheyenne II turbo prop). I called Great Lakes to see if there was any waiver but there was not. I have 1750 tt, 440 multi with 112 multi turbine, Just passed ATP written. Not good enough. I am forced to go fly a C150 for 20 hours to get the 35 hrs in 90 days/ 80 hrs in 6 months. Free plane just pay for fuel. Rather get kicked in the nuts!
Call me crazy but I want to go to Great Lakes for the type flying and training. Cut my commercial flying teeth flying freight for G.T.A. Air inc. out of Addison, Tx. So.... never had autopilot(to speak of) or GPS. Pay, well I'm not making much right now anyway.
If anyone knows a different approach on how to get an interview with G.L.A., chime in!!
Don't want to step on any toes. Just get an interview!!

From the guys I know flying for gla, I hear it is around 18-24 months, but I was told attrition is high and they need guys bad so who knows, don't quote me on the 18-24 because it's a dirty rumor, they lost the Montana flying and picked flying in califoria so anything could happen

The people have spoken. Conclusion: Bridge Burner.
I got the call from them too and politely asked them to confirm the FO pay scale (as I did not want to rely solely on the 'innernette').
The lady I spoke to confirmed the low, low, LOW price and I politely declined the offer. I am proud to have made a stand....and to have done so without drama or having burned a bridge.
I repeated this process with Piedmont, PSA and Colgan.
Power to the people (by which I mean pilots).
Down with cheap labor!

Really, I can understand turning one or two of those down, but there are a couple that are pretty good. Just what are you expecting?

Wow. Lakes has lost all of its flying east of the Dakotas. I remember the good ol' days when ORD, STL and the Upper Peninsula were the big hotspots. No more I guess....
