I like how all the Colgan guys here were all "keep your jets, we're happy on our props" before the SLI came out. Now that it came out, Colgan has tons of guys moving over to jets, and their positions are being filled by other Colgan pilots. Sure, the Q got a few XJ or maybe 1 9E pilot, but the rest of Qs all went to Colgan, and the Saab is 100% Colgan.
And as for the previous war a few pages ago with flyprdu, I'd have to agree: being downgraded is a worse fate than keeping your left seat and now commuting. Because at least you chose to keep your seat at the expense of moving your base. You could have voluntarily downgraded yourself to stay in base, and several XJ pilots did so. But the guy getting downgraded had all his darts thrown out there, and couldn't get a single Captain slot due to the BS Bloch quotas and fences. Besides, if you're a XJ pilot, you should have no dog in this argument. The alternative you were looking at is downgrade for your Captains and furloughs for your FOs if this merger and one-list didn't happen.

It's hard to gauge how an entire pilot group is going to bid from viewing comments on a message board. I think less than a tenth of the whole Colgan group got awarded a jet slot, so it is true that the majority of us are just fine staying in current position. There will be much more disappointment to come in this career, this I promise you.

Everyone and their mother at Colgan has Captain spots listed as #1. That's why there were tons of Saab awards, and the most junior Captain is a may 2010 hire. A majority of the Colgan captains that were awarded Saabs and Qs were not their #1 choice, in fact, for a majority it was their #10 (or higher) position. What this means is that these pilots all have the RJ Captain positions first, and then Q and Saabs. So you are INACCURATE when you say the majority are "just fine" in current position. Obviously they are not, which is why the award # category matters. And anytime a Colgan pilot is awarded a prop Captain position and the "to # number" shows greater than 10, it means these pilots have all the RJ Captain positions as #1-#9. Nice try, but facts speak for themselves.
These guys got awarded these positions and should be thankful and professional about it by not rubbing it in to SR FOs.
That said the SR FOs need to be professional as well towards these Jr CAs last time I checked the FOM doesn't say anything about the CA letting an FO fly. Could make for a very long 4 day if someone decides to be a D bag...
Complaining about this and dissecting the award in what is your own interpretation of Blochs decision ( you said FS gets to interpret Blochs award himself, but now you are) is pointless and does nothing for you or the collective whole. Time to move forward with this Bloch party
