Hey - I think you were in my interview class at ASA / Expressjet recently... if so, have you gotten a call back yet? I was the big guy... I have not yet heard anything and the waiting is starting to drive me nuts.

Actually, it'd be worth it to get him against a wall with proof and simply threaten to persue legal action against him. At the very least, I'd think you could settle out of court with some $$$ compensation for damages already inflicted and an agreement not to repeat the act.
The problem is that the affected pilot will be either forced to be repeatedly victimized and have his career seriously threatened or leave out the employer and have a suspicious employment gap, neither of which is condusive to success in the cutthroat (for now) pilot hiring process.

However, I can't be completely sure that he was the reason for me not continuing with the application process. After all, it could be numerous things that Eagle had a problem with on my app. I don't blame American Eagle at all, I just wish they would provide some insight into the matter. It is, after all, my career.

EXACTLY what I am talking about. I don't want this guy to be a problem for me in the future, whether in aviation or any other career choice for that matter.

Confirm or eliminate.

If I was him, I set up a sham employment check to see what this previous employer says. If it's worthy of legal action from there based on the results, I go after that employers nuts and offer him the opportunity to bid for them back on ebay (provided he had any money left after I finsihed with him).

Sue him for what? Not giving a good review of you to the company who you interviewed with?
Take that energy and apply it somewhere else. There is absolutely no case against this guy and you will end up paying for his costs fighting what will be deemed a frivolous lawsuit. People are allowed an opinion. I would be surprised if any lawyer would take the case. The hard reality is that this exists and you must learn how to manage this contact. And the truth is you really can not be certain of why they turned you down. Do yourself a favor and let this angry idea go.
First, don't use him as a contact. Find someone that can reasonably attest to you working there. Another manager, pilot or friend. No airline will be of the wiser.
Good luck. You will find a decent flying job if you persevere.

Agreed, its just unfortunate that its the only regional game in my town. Given what I have read about commuting, I'm not sure I'm willing to sacrifice my free time flying to a crashpad in brooklyn or some other less than desirable town.

Ok, so I interviewed with Eagle a few weeks ago, and got the pre-offer of employment. Now today I get home and I have a certified letter from them stating that:
"you have not successfully completed the remaining portions of the pilot selection process. We are, therefore, rescinding our offer of employment effective immediately."
Anyone have any idea why this may be? Do I have a right to know why?

About 2 weeks later I got the letter saying thanks but no thanks, it also said re apply in 6 months or something.
Was this similar to what you received? Do they still give the offer based on the results of the review board, because you are not hired until that silly board gives you a once over.
If it didnt say re apply at some point they may have found something they dislike in your record so yah, like these other cats are saying you should take a look for yourself and you might find a couple surprises.
Cheers.

I interviewed a few years back, got the conditional offer of employment on day 2 after the medical and went on my way. That letter was conditional upon the results of the review board.

I even pulled my full pilot record last year and examined everything with a fine tooth comb. Nothing. No failed checkrides, no failed stage checks, no failed written, nothing.
It's funny because when I originally applied to Eagle back in October 2010, they didn't even give me an interview. I went on to start my own Internet company that has since made me a decent chunk of change since then, and my latest application to Eagle was actually auto applied by airline apps last April or May.
I had been dodging Eagle for months about an interview before I even responded, and I did so with the intent of just gaining the interview experience. It wasn't til I got to the interview before I really decided to get back into aviation, and that Eagle would be a great fit. Now I remember why I left, it's just one disappointment after the next.
