Does Silver require you to carry your own charts/manuals on the line? Or is there a cockpit set...I guess if you had to carry your own, there wouldnt be many, considering each base only flies to 5/6 airports, plus alternates. That probably all fits into a single 1 or 2 inch Jepp binder, no? I've got one of the Brightline pilot flight bags, it has a space for my headset and pubs (not much). Trying to find out if I need to invest in a chart case or not...

Most, if not all are going to KBIL. However, that won't last long. New system wide bid to come out soon. While Florida is senior, a lot of attrition is going on has we have a lot going to the majors, and just not the state side ones. If you want a particular base, you'll have to bid for it. I'm low time and we have a guy and gal in class with 250tt.

Right you are, Sand. There is a VERY slim chance of getting Fl, but hell, I bid it anyway. The Beech will be in operation for awhile, has the Saabs come online, they will be placed on all the Florida routes first. The Beech's will be used for other oppurtunities though there is a strong demand for thier services up north and other places. Of course thier retirement from the airline is a sure thing, with the Saabs going up north and EAS routes too, but that's about 2 years out or shorter, the way upper management is talking.

Interesting. I'd imaging reserve is much longer in FL considering you dont have 20 new hires moving in behind you every month... Any idea how long the estimate for reserve is up north? CP told me up to 6 months during the interview, yet i've heard 2 months tops...

We are pilots, but it's good to have basic English skills. The systems test was very tough; I studied my butt off and was tied for best score in class with a 96/100. This is no cake walk as for bases and upgrades... expect the worst and if you get better well good on you. There is no guarantees here so plan spending a couple years up north and pray that the EAS routes don't get hosed. There is plans to reduce the funding and if they do there is a darn good chance we will all be on the street.
