That's a head scratcher. I can't speak for everyone's situation, but if I were a 1500 hour pilot about to look at regionals to apply to, CommutAir would be at the top of my list. No, the money isn't as great as Republic or Endeavor. But you will upgrade in less than 2 years. That's what the regionals are for, getting your time and moving on. Like I said, everyone's situation is different, and some people are more concerned about pay or bases.

Looks like we lost 6 folks in February to the majors.
Once the ERJ backlog is reasonable I would expect the company to announce some new bonuses aimed at both attracting new folks and retaining those who are thinking about leaving to LCCs.
We are still in good shape staffing wise, but we need to stay ahead of the curve.

There is a 30% gate for D8 captains leaving to the ERJ. They should hold D8 captain until the very end. The attrition right now says they won't be sent to the right seat.

AWAC joining the CPP party. So, how are we planning on staffing this growth, when wiscy is offering 33k bonus and the same career progression we have, but with a good contract and actual soft pay? Bases are close enough that anyone who would choose c5 to live in base would have almost no issue going to ZW.

Good for the AWAC guys, they deserve it. Not good for C5! Recruiting has already been dreadful, and this isn't going to help.
I think this was a clear sign that UAL had to cover their a$$ in regards to their 50 seat market. My guess is that they don't have much faith in C5 right now......and rightfully so. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the 40 erj's and that's it. Hope I'm wrong.

Their contract starts about a year from now. I don't believe for a second United made this decision based on commutair...
