REGIONAL EXPRESS (SAAB 340 Captains & First Officers (April 17th - 27th USA Interviews) - Australia)
I spent most of the day researching REX. IMHO they are a cross between Gulfstream and the family owned Colgan. They have a "cadet program" that is a 0 hero for about 85k with a seven year payback (if you stay with the company). One site mentioned working with management is "challenging". Pay is about $80k US with bases in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Townsville. I didn't research Townsillve, but Sydney and Melbourne are in the top 15 most expensive cities for cost of living (one site I found said Sydney is 25% more expensive than New York City). Adelaide isn't far behind. Their contract (here http://www.pilotaptitude.com/files/REX.pdf) seems pretty thin (it is only 45 pages and very vague)
I was pretty gung ho, but after the research, I kinda figured out why they need to recruit in the US. Check out PPRuNe for threads about them.
I'm not saying "don't", but take some time and learn what you are getting into. Do your own research.
