Pinnacle is getting out of the ground handling business. They are shutting down PinnPro. It, like colgan and our owned 900's. have been losing money since the day they were created. They underbid everyone to get control of some of the ground stations. They made nearly every employee part time so they had no benefits. In the end it still failed.

“We said when we started the restructuring process that we would have to make tough decisions for our business to emerge from Chapter 11 stronger and profitable,” company spokesperson Joe Williams said. “We are discontinuing unprofitable units as part of the reorganization plan and refocusing on our core business of flying.”

Didn't a bunch of Skywest ground station get close down recently? Does that mean the whole airline is closing down? You are reading too much into this. This is just for ground operation, Pinpro wasn't making money so Pinnacle is shutting it down.

Who are the regionals going to hire to replace the 6000-7000 rj pilots over the next 3-5 years who move onto the majors if nobody has an ATP?

O, don't worry. They will have their ATP. It's the need at a major that will screw up the supply/demand curve. DON'T RELAX SCOPE!

You're right, it's all about trading scope for more money. Why would I, the big bad Delta pilot ever want to fly a small narrowbody plane. It's all about widebodies for me. You can have the narrowbodies as long as I have more money.

He was being sarcastic - 80kts is a scope hawk. Hope your "bring on the 900s" comment was made with tongue planted firmly in cheek as well.
