Sorry for any misleading titles.. Just trying to get legitimate feed back into the current situation, happy to change the title. Announcement should follow shortly, but until then mods please feel free to change the title or simply delete the thread. According to people above my pay grade, which is nothing, Comair has agreed to operate certain aircraft, not sure which ones. It appears that Comair will be forced to fly these aircraft/routes as pinnacle will be unable to provide the lift due to upcoming furloughs.
The more likely scenario unfortunately is pinnacle is beat down in bankruptcy and delta has us working under a contract they approve of and comair ceases operations by the end of the year.

This is quite possibly the stupidest rumor I've heard so far.

I could see Delta parking 9E's -200's over the next year or so as they take possesion of more B717's/MD90's... even with the DIP financing I don't think 9E has much of a future... I think 9E will cease to exist in 3 years time. I have been wrong before but right now I am looking for an exit... I just can't be optimistic about this company anymore unless all of our FO's are making about 30k and our CA's 50k (and thats not good news anyway).

It's a choose your own adventure rumor form!!
Hey guys, I just heard from a (ramp agent/CEO/hotel driver/upper management/union leader/SOMEONE WHO KNOWS) that (Pinnacle/Skywest/Republic/Comair/XJ/Great Lakes/Silver) is going to (declare bankruptcy/furlough half their pilots/huge hiring spree/ask for pilot concessions/pay management a huge bonus for nothing) (tomorrow/next month/next year). Also, they've got a huge order for (CRJs/ERJs/747/717/777/Sikorski S-42 Clippers) that will be coming online later this month. Good luck to you all in this (massive layoff/happy event)!

Why would anyone give planes to Comair? Their crew costs have to be thru the roof with nothing but senior people there. If any regional gets a 717 or C-series, this career is over. There is going to be nothing left to move on to. I call b.s, but stranger things have happened.
Where do you think the C-Series are going? That plane is made specifically to do Domestic medium and short haul flights. Exactly the business the Legacys want to get out of.

The fact is that for money, pilots have outsourced their own job, therefore allowing the DCI to exist. For a little more money why not allow a few more planes. The regionals operate the E175/CRJ900 which have wages negotiated by dalpa.
The pilots claim that they are united as an industry and a union but they have allowed the industry to except starting pay below poverty levels. The common answer I hear to that is we all had to pay our dues. That is insulting. They paid their dues by being on reserve for 1-2 years at the most. Not 5-15 years. The only ones that want to join this industry are those who love flying. I have been at my company for 5 years and still live paycheck to paycheck, and not because I am trying to live outside of my means. We are one of the few unions in the country that doesn't have a standard pay nationwide for years of service, or by equipment operated.
