Leave me out of this. I completely disagree with what Joe said above.

And it would have been as big a piece of crap as our current contract.

Comair shutting down did one thing for all of us. It separated the scared desperate lifers who want to grovel for their lives from the smart ones running for the lifeboats.

I just flew with a guy that'd been at ASA for over twenty years and he's looking to bail. With Delta's new TA, it would only take two years for him to get back to his current pay.

I've spoken to quite a few who were on the fence before the TA and Comair, but are now determined to look elsewhere. That is good news for everyone.

1. Their MEC is far more militant than our MEC and that is why we still don't have a TA....They are still living in their CAL lucrative cost plus world before reality slapped them upside the head.

2. You are one of the "more militant" folks on this side of the fence so it's no wonder you can't see the problem.

3. The industry standard is moving backwards while y'all cry and moan about how bad we have it....Wake up and look around....
The industry average the day the merger was announced was below our current contract. So why would we agree to a concessionary joint contract than to stay with our superior contract?

"Good stuff..." ??? Sure hope so.
This meeting should've happened years ago. Plain and simple. You can't replace a face to face meeting (that's partly why we have jobs right? to help people get real work done?) with a phone call to someone you've never met. Just doesn't work.

If any barriers existed between the groups I believe they were torn down this week. Maybe not entirely but it was a good first step in opening the lines of communication between the groups and being unified on not allowing management to play us against each other.

I don't know what the final bill was, but this burned out guy found the meeting to be potentially invaluable down the road. My two pennies.
Problem is that one group has no say when management uses tem against the other two.

Looks like they did "discuss" a potential three way merger with Jerry. ALPA ail is out.

Indeed. Perhaps we'll do something about it one day.

Yes, the "amateurs" want more of out of a contract. The "amateurs" refuse to give anything up when the mothership is making money hand over fist.

I presume the "professionals" like yourself must want less and are willing to do this job for rotten peanuts. Professionals bend over and take whatever comes their way. THAT MAKES SENSE.

If you want to stay here and flounder in the Delta world of whipsaw, go ahead. You must have a massive skeleton in your closet.
