Part of working for a subcontractor is dealing with a constant shuffle of flying. Sometimes it's in your favor, a lot of times it's not. As pilots it would be ignorant to get too wrapped up in something we have no control over. Not only that, but the whipsaw premise is flawed in this case because the rumored flying would be going to a better compensated pilot group that is not facing wage reductions due to bankruptcy. If anything, it proves to Eagle management that pilot costs are not the determining factor in the allocation of outsourced flying, therefore they need to look for cost-savings somewhere else. In the long-term, that's a good thing.

Stay classy!
That's what the regional airline industry is...salivating over the thought of a few more planes, even if it means the loss of jobs at another regional. It's pitiful.

More true now than ever before I'd say.

Stay classy? How about you think about all the other factors going on with AMR and EGL before you make assumptions that our gaining flying there directly results in their furloughing. As was stated before, this is hardly a case of labor rates being the determining factor for contracts.

IF a unit of skywest gets AMR flying, it will be crap flying, just ask the CHQ guys. Tons of 45 minute block legs. They love to beat the hell out of other airlines planes, and save their own.

That'd be 20 mins longer than our average flight with DAL. Might have to stop for fuel.

Factors like what? Factors like AMR saying that they want to diversify feed? Factors like AMR saying that they want to park some of their "inefficient" 35-50 seat planes?

Factors like you saying

Unless you've got inside info that says AMR is now serving some new markets, and XJT has been chosen to do the flying, it seems like you're happy to pad your pocket / logbook at the expense of a fellow pilot. I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Seems like you are arguing for the sake of arguing. Move along sir.

Back on topic.. Seems like all signs are pointing to 3-4 more CRJ classes. No proof for the naysayers as things are usually kept quite until the last second, but for those swimming in the pool hopefully you will be getting a call soon.
