Yep, that too. With DAL cutting the airframes, Jerry wants, more like NEEDS homes for them.

Didnt skywest send out a memo to one of your employee groups saying that you guys had the highest employee costs in the industry, with Eagle being second, and had the second highest revenue, with Eagle being first. I do not want to open the door to this being another Eagle doom/gloom blah blah comment, but not sure your number 1.

Not really sure why AMR contracted with Skywest either, considering places like gojetz and great lakes could do it for way less. Hmm, I wonder the RFP for flying at AMR, if Great Lakes was offered it, and supplied the airplanes and use of the training center in Dallas.
No there was no memo, SkyWest does not have the highest labor cost. Plus there are many areas that SkyWest is able to save money compared to its competitors which helps them maintain a more competitive CPASM.

Since 9/11, Jerry has done NOTHING but grow SkyWest Inc and for the most part, keep the shareholders happy.

Not that long ago, before Reverend Bedford went off the reservation, the SAME could be said for him. He took CHQ from a crappy little turbo prop operator with a single mainline partner to what they were right before he went nuts with Midwest/Frontier.

AGAIN, you have to separate the pilot career from running a business/being a CEO understand what MatchPoint is getting at.

Not sure how happy "shareholders" are that the stock is down from over $40 bucks a share to hovering in the nines and low 10 range...

Sadly most pilots are incapable of seeing the other side. I have 2 business degrees and many years of experience so I see what Jerry has done and I am impressed. I know I am now "labor" but to succeed you must have a good working relationship with mgt. and yes that's a 2 way street. Just as we need to work with them, they need to work with us and that's exactly what Jerry understands.

No one could have maintained a share price around $40 in this industry. Just look at the almighty Southwest.

Sadly, Jerry has the "economies of scale" on his side.
But if Eagle can get 747SPs why couldnt lakes get 145s?

Because there aren't enough Tim "the milkman" Martins to staff them, duh.

Doesnt mean I don't despise Jerry and think he's a first class doosh nozzle. Just look back to 2008 with the start of "you break it, you buy it" program he initiated with XJT. And that sentiment extends to the SkyWest pilots that couldn't wait to get their hands on the ERJs so they could upgrade. I just loved being in SLC at gate 12 when theyd come over and say "hey, mind if we get a look at this plane since we're gonna be buying them and flying them soon. Don't worry, Jerry is gonna hire you all at the bottom so you'll have a job"
