Realistically? Probably another year, maybe more. It's ONLY
been 5+years. The company is not going to do it until they are forced to, and since they are golfing buddies with the NMB mediators...well, I don't really need a pay raise anytime soon.

As of today they are hiring for all certs and equipment. CMH and IND are junior if I remember correctly. They say most going into the Q are getting lines out of training. The people were very nice.

People in rah are always really nice. I have never had issues with captains or crews i have flown with. Some people treat schedulers like crap which makes me sad because they deal with the sh!t they are handed.
On the other hand tou always have to watch your six:
- payroll is a joke. Your paychek will be a joke month after month.
- training deparemt people are nice but its extremely disorganized. You wont get training hotel / flight until last minute or sometimes not even until you get to stl/ind.
- there is a certain scheduling manager that will play mind games sometimes trying to get you assigned stuff that legsl per faa but illegal per contract .
- i am sure if it wasnt for the Qs they would have furloughed people this fall as well.
- we have a ceo that gets job done but only to his benefits. He talks about the impact of Sandy on his memo bit fails the recognize the loss of employees because of lack of cancellation pay.
- right now company is offering $30/hr extra pay to q captains because they are so short but they would not do the right thing and upgrade more people.
People rhat you work with are great all overworked and underpaid.
There are better companies out there to work for (and there are worse ones too) . Chose wisely

Q upgrade is closer to 6 years. Guys that were hired in Feb 07 are just now making it to the Q left seat (training backup).
Reserve here is a world of pain. Almost all reserve periods regardless of base are 0400-1600. If they need you at 1900hrs they'll call you during RSV and put you "back on rest" with a new show time and a reset of your 16hr look back clock. If not, they'll deadhead you someplace and dhd you back so you can begin your actual assignment after 1600hrs. Reserve periods are not biddable. You get what they give you, which is almost always 0400 or 0300 start. If you are a commuter, too bad. Your callout is 90 min, including the time to answer the phone and talk to scheduling, or call them back. Since RSV periods are awarded slightly differently than schedules you can easily and frequently get 6 days on. If you commute, that can leave you with an 8 day stretch. With two days off, counting commuting, well you can see how that works...
I haven't looked back at my numbers for this year but I never broke guarantee and worked most RSV days (I'm a 2007 hire). If you're on the east coast you'll have a better experience in that trips are more productive without 6-9 hours of deadheading for each trip.
If you live in base it is a toss-up, in that you will sit out-of-base RSV so they can get better utilization out of you. So if you're based in CMH for instance, you'll sit RSV in GSO or PHL while the PHL or GSO guys are in your base sitting RSV. This allows them to hold you for the entire 12 hour period, then assign a dhd that gets you back to base under 16 hours. Your dhd will be outside of your 12 hour RSV block since you're on a pairing to be out of base. Seems to me that out-of-base RSV is most common on the last day. You do get per diem and 4 hours towards guarantee though.
RSV for the charter flying will be a complete mess. I don't even want to speculate on that one. Aircraft utilization is less than 1 flight per day so I'd fully expect to be dhding around the country instead of sitting RSV. It could be a good deal if you live in the charter base but I expect they'll just dhd you around the system.
As for IFP right out of training, I think if you were in training right now it might be possible. But there are only 5 FOs and 6 CAs for IFP so after the initial stand-up I don't expect anyone will be getting it until one of those guys/gals wants to leave. The staffing model for IFP is still in flux. They aren't sure if they will staff from DEN and just forgo the base. I honestly don't know what they are doing with IFP ATT.
