Over the summer there were guys coming out of class going to IND and CMH but they soon moved to ORD so I would say the most Jr guy in ORD is around a June 12 hire. Don't count on ORD and you won't be disappointed! As of right now I don't see too many new hires going to S5...the Q is more of a priority for HR.

Where are most new-hires going? My buddy just interviewed and got asked what he wanted. (he chose S5)

Right now they are mainly hiring for chq and republic for q flying. Thst doesnt mean that you wont get shuttle. Whereever they need bodies that day thats what you will get .

There is no way under current industry staus-quo that that many pilots could be found next year.

Only way it happens: Eagle cuts/furloughs, Xjet cuts/furloughs, Pinnacle out of business...

So, churn of pilots already in the system is the only hiring solution.

The kids aren't showing up for this crap anymore. They can't make sense of how to pay for it, pay it back, or live on it after hired.

Good post. I think you're right about that being the only way they would be able to get pilots. Even then I think it'd be tough. Only the furloughed, young starry eyed guys and gals would continue to pursue regional airlines for jobs. Very few middle-aged people would continue under such deplorable conditions. Personally, I would walk away and help to fuel the "upcoming shortage".

This is funny. Mis-management is getting in some trouble over the Q contract. Apparently FAA is concerned that we got a green on green waiver down to 25hours(!!!!) for flat land flying and now those crews are flying DEN routes.

I've heard from two separate sources that UA is looking to CNX the contract for failure to perform. That would be -150 pilots not +960.

Again, HR is floating this hiring rumor to get applicants.

850 pilots in a year? How high on the list do you have to be to be a captain? Are there any Florida bases?
