First off, helping out the industry or saying burn it down on principle will not pay my bills.

Second, the people who want us to vote no because of the ramifications of this TA on the rest of the industry also stand to gain quite a bit if we shut down such as better schedules, upgrades, movement, etc. They are licking their chops at our airplanes, which also does not pay my bills.

Third, Delta has some very smart people running the show, if we vote no they undoubtably have a plan to get the cuts they want among the DCI carriers. It won't matter that we fell on the sword.

I'm not an automatic yes vote but as a mid-level seniority FO on 5th year pay I have accepted the fact that there is no future for me at this company but I see the next year or two being easier with a yes vote than a no vote, giving me time to find something else. By something else I mean NOT another regional, I just can't get excited about starting over at 50% less pay, commuting to sit ready reserve, and all the other garbage that new hire regional FOs have to deal with.
And by voting yes for reasons such as these is why this industry will continue to spiral down into entry level positions that pay minimum wage. You are worth more. Have some dignity and self-respect.

I will vote Yes, and doing so will save my job and many others. A yes vote shows that I care about more than just myself. Dignity and self respect doesn't pay the bills or keep me current. If somebody believes that by voting No you have no dignity or self respect or weak they are wrong.

A yes vote shows you only care about yourself.

A no vote shows that you see the big picture and realize the same bad ending is going to happen either way so you might as well not drag the rest of the industry down even farther with you.

We are asking you 9E FOs not to help the industry, but help yourselves. Voting yes will be like contributing to the Mississippi Flying Club's retirement. They tormented you all in training now you will provide them with a 20k+ signing bonus and 800 jobs that will bring down your future pay if you happen to go to another regional.

Love how all these people who don't even work at Pinnacle are asking us to vote no.

For what its worth. I am voting yes.

Why? Because to me its the better deal out of two crappy deals. If I am going to be furloughed I would rather have the bonus and furlough package than get furloughed with nothing. At least under the TA I will receive a bonus, plus up to 3 months of pay (3 months if furloughed in 2013, 1 month if furloughed in 2014) and health insurance, and 2 years of Delta pass benefits.

I agree with that...I just don't see a no vote ending the regional whipsaw. Is a whole bunch of flying going to GoJets a victory? If ASA or Air Whisky or (fill in the blank) gets the airplanes, I'd wager there would be some strings ($$$) attached.

I'm not saying I disagree with the No vote mentality or will be a yes voter myself. I'm just asking; are we *really* striking the blow against regional treatment that we think we are?

You are mistaken about your bonus. The paycut you take will be greater than bonus that you receive. Don't be gullible. This contract caters to the super senior and that is all. The only thing that you will get is worthless flight bennies. Is it that easy to trick you?

People who aren't at Pinnacle really have no business telling them how to vote. It's easy to tell someone else to fall on his sword. A lot harder to be the one who actually has to do it.

Besides, I question the legitimacy of the claim that voting no will do anything to help the industry. Delta is coming after everyone to reduce costs, no matter how the PCL pilots vote. If they vote yes, Delta will use that new rate to set the standard for what they expect from their feeder carriers. If they vote no, then Delta will wind down Pinnacle quickly and use them as an example for everyone out there about what happens when you don't play ball. Either way, Delta will get what they want. This is inevitable until we solve the problem of regional pilots not having any real connection to their mainline carriers, and not having any portability in their careers to go elsewhere without starting over.

Pinnacle pilots should vote based on what's in their own best interests. Not based on some crazy idea that they should "take one for the team."

The only true way to do that is everyone at every regional NOT chase the jets/jobs, but simply walk away from the entire industry and do something else, then laugh when mgmt starts scratching their heads on how to start a CRJ with no pilots.
Unfortunately that has about as much chance as a national seniority list and one contract for everyone.
