I'll clear it up for you seen as you are struggling to read my earlier posts. We are talking about new hire F.O.'s getting paid a low salary for their first year while they cut their teeth in the 121 world.

I have been there, done that, and have over 6,000 hours and 2 type ratings, so yes I am worth more than that. I have already paid my dues. If I want to earn the kind of money that my qualifications would allow though, I have to go overseas. Otherwise I have to tread water at a regional again until the majors ramp up their hiring.

No, this is fun. Nobody cares about the paint job.

I think they should have 2 pay scales now. One for the old paint job, and another lesser rate for those fortunate enough to fly the new colors.

(Yes I'm being facetious.)

Actually the proposed new $9 an hour minimum wage would hurt alot. We have 6 employees who are paid minimum wage which is $7.80 in my State.

Why do we pay minimum wage? Because we can. We have plenty of applications every week, so why would we add additional cost when we don't have to?

If we were struggling to find people to work for us, we would have to increase the pay rate to attract more applicants.

Oh I'm sorry about that. The new paint job is a work of art. I love the sleek look of the silver metalic and the contrast of the red white and blue really compliments the word "American."

It really is a joy to behold. I know that any other airline taxiing by such a masterpiece will certainly be overcome with jealousy.

The guys that fly such a beautiful bird will be filled with pride as they walk down the jet bridge, but on the other hand may be overcome with sorrow when the paint is inevitably sprayed with type 1 glycol.

Hows that?

Much better!

I'm wondering how long it'll take before the paint peels off.
