Good point! My mistake. Thanks.

No, I'm not a pilot in the guard. I'm a navigator. I have been fortunate enough to stay on active duty orders (AGR) for a few years now, but my orders end early next year. It is possible, however, that I may be able to extend them for another year after that. If given that chance, I will stay on orders and be pretty close to the 1500 by the end of 2015, so that's the best case scenario for me. If not, then I will do some time building while guard bumming to pay the bills.
Is the navigator time log-able? Have you applied for a pilot slot where you are at? Are you on 130s? You can PM or not answer at all if you want

Oh. You want me to continue?

I think his mom may have kicked him out of the basement, and made him go look for a job...?
I fly an Airbus, it doesn't fit in a basement. The RJ does, though.

That's not saying much...I can fit an RJ in my guest room's closet... I can only fit the airbus' lav in my basement..... That lav is soooooo cozy.. No crick neck after a pee in that thing, however, if your over 5' 0" good luck taking a pee in an RJ lav. A real pilots chart should be--- pilots ability based on size of current aircraft lav.... Fighter pilots are totally screwed.:-)

Colgan pilots were the chosen ones. They had a God-given "career expectation" route. The rest of us measly pilots did not.

Just out of curiosity where did you apply to back in the day? Did you only want to fly a jet or would u have flown a prop?

I love flying with a colgan captain hired a year after me. He complained the entire trip how he might be on reserve...

Reserve blows. Id expect both of y'all to be complaining about still being at 9E on top of the reserve.

Hired a year after you? Where is he on the ISL? Junior or senior?

Remember, it's not DOH, it's your spot on the list that matters. An independent arbitrator came to a decision, and, for better or worse, it's what we have to live with.

I don't care if a guy was hired a year later, if he is good to fly with that's all that counts.
