Holy ****, that right there would be enough for me to run screaming into the night. The first time a maintenance guy screws up and collars the wrong thing, or doesn't, or something, you can kiss your certificates goodbye.

Oh, as of 3 days ago, our ASAP program is terminated....protection from the FAA, gone. Yeah, this place is jus peachy...come on over. If you do, I don't want to hear one, not ONE complaint for as long as you are here...if you know better, and chose to come here anyway, you are a fool and lose the right to *****.
Whoa! That is nuts. I hate to kick up a hornets nest of internet bickering- but that should scare people into not applying there. Like Joe Biden said, "This is a big flippin' deal!"

Is that across all three certificates-Republic, Shuttle, Chq?

Unfortunately it is across all three certificates. It's not just ASAP. It is every single committee the union is involved in... from FOQA to Scheduling and everything in between. This is a move that hurts the pilot group much more than it hurts the company. They better have an excellent reason. Otherwise it is time to recall CM and his good old boys club.

Until this situation gets explained and resolved, I would advise anyone thinking of coming here to steer away. I never thought that I would get screwed not just by management but also my own union which I pay dues to.

It's gotta be deeper than just the local. IBT all the way to the top with Hoffa, has stolen my money for years with nothing to show. RAH management has led this company to the point of extreme low morale, now IBT kicks a down guy in the gut. Stay away, for your own good and for our good. If enough people say NO and go elsewhere, maybe the cancelled flights for lack of crew will actually do something.

So you're saying RAH is soooooo bad and other places are waaaay better and you write that? You could start over at Air Wisconsin and second year pay will be what you're making now and you'll make more with all their duty and trip rigs. So do that.. And Wal-Mart and McDonald's and Waffle House are always hiring too.

Chances are RAH is not going to furlough and never going to strike and with new flying upgrade times are bound to drop.. And you should be upgrading pretty soon if you're a late 07 hire. If you are bypassing upgrade because you don't want to fly the 145 or the Q400 then you shouldn't be complaining..Seems to be the case since you seem pretty embellished about letting everyone know you fly the E170. It has engines under the wings! ..I've heard already.

You can blame the termination of the ASAP program on the International Brotherhood of Thugs. Company had nothing to do with that.

I don't disagree that IBT is to blame for a lot of the problems...,company for the rest, regardless of who is to blame, life sucks for the pilots here! Yes I have bypassed an upgrade...bidding in the top 3 in the base i live in, means that I have a decent schedule. Decent schedule for me is not what a new hire will expect. Even Witt a food schedule I dislike my job. Constant reassignments, fighting for the pay you are owed, no cancellation pay, etc. I did bypass, so i won't complain about the $36/hr I've made for the past 4 years. When I can hold weekends off on reserve, or a line, in a base I can commute in 1 leg, I'll upgrade. Right now i am trading days off for pay....but pay is only a tiny bit of the many issues at this company!

As for the 170..my normal screen name was taken on this forum, so I chose this. Do I like the 170....love it. It is a great plane to fly, a little over 5,000 hours in it and if I could find a job flying this plane and paying a decent wage, I'd be happy. Do I think that because I fly a 170 and the engines are under the wings, that I am somehow more special than a CRJ guy...nope.

In 2004, my second year at Comair (and on reserve, so rarely breaking guarantee) I made about $42,000....

Of course, 10 yrs later there is no Comair, but RAH pay and rigs is way below industry standard.

Just sayin'...
