jesus.. I make RAH jokes like everyone else, but after reading some of this stuff.. like damn, I feel bad for you guys..

I think about making that kind of money as an FO with a wife and couple kids.. my god.

I'm gonna make around 52-54k gross as a right seat CRJ guy at whiskey and I feel like I hardly make it some months... (single, no kids)

You should try bidding to fly the 190. I know when I had a rough day, I'd realize things could always be worse after seeing a smaller 170 passing by and I'd just feel bad for those people. I don't even know how the guys do it in the little corporate 145 jet.

Actually because I dont believe it is as bad a people are making it out to be. Without data to back it all up, this is just opinion.

$36K is not good....and I know people on here are educated...so why would they stick with a bad situation (however, i dont know your other income sources)? Are you gambling?

Obviously flying is more important than money to you (as it is to me), so you are doing something that you love to do.......reference my previous post....and if you hate it so much, you can always quit.

(not trying to flame bait, but do you see my point? it is one way or the other....)
I do have a second job, that significantly offsets my RAH pay. In 2007 when I was hired we thought we'd have a CBA in a year or so after the amenable date. Without my second job I would have to quit and go back to my previous career within a month or two.

I believed the hype that BB and co were honest business leaders just trying to build a good solid company. I was mistaken, but now, with 6 years invested and upgrade probably some time in the next year I have to stay to get TPIC.

The problem I ran into was I always thought things would get better here. They have actually just gotten worse each year in all aspects. I was talking to an Airways guy a few months ago and I realized that many people have had the same problem for their entire career (40 years). The difference is, "suck" at a legacy (losing retirement for instance), and suck at a regional are very different. I can even say, that if the company acted in it's own best interest, I would be happier. At least then there would be predictability, in that the company would be operating to maximize profit. And yes, it is obvious even to an non business major, that the company does not operate in their best interests. Instead, they operate to minimize near-term cost and to avoid giving pilots any leeway.

Flying was/is fun, but not at this place. Not for this management team that will tell you to your face that they want you to leave the company but then ask why customer complaints have tripled or why no one will answer their phone on a day off. I know it happens at many companies in many industries, but our managers are simply immoral, ignorant and vindictive (with a few exceptions).

If you don't believe any of us, that's fine, you'll discover the truth eventually. If you PM me your email address we can communicate if you come on board. I'd bet a few beers that you don't make it out of training before you discover the truth about this place.

I should add that I'm in a unique situation in that I took about a 50K paycut to become an FO here, I wasn't a professional student or CFI for the decade before switching to flying. But when I add it up, I'm out $350,000 in earnings over the last 7 years, due to this switch. The difference between an RAH and a Skywest or Whiskey pilot over 6 years would offset that by easily 100K+. So if a pilot worked at a different regional but lived like an RAH pilot and saved their money, they would have a significant downpayment for a house, or investment. So take opinion out of it. Upgrade times, pay, work rules, corporate debt, and schedules are all objective measures, and this place is behind all the competitors.

Default July 29th CHQ class?

Anyone else in the CHQ July 29th class? How is training on the 145? Any recommendations for training? Should I expect LGA base out of Training? How many months to plan to be on reserve? Thanks

nope aint so. even as rebranding as american eagle it still has to say who is operating the flight. since they are not american eagle airlines then it must say in reservations operated by ***** as american eagle, but it does not, just has some eagle flights and the rest of the cities are routed through phl and clt.

They are probably just not loaded into the reservation system due to what ever changes they are planning. I am sure they did not just lob CHQ only destinations like HPN, TOL and SPI (From ORD) entirely without any sort of press release.
